Nadal was relentless. He was on a mission after the previous 2 finals. 4 set loss, 5 set loss, 5 set victory. That’s determination and dedication. What a match !! The 2012 Australian Open final, the 2017 A.O. final and the French 2013 semi was the finest tennis I’ve ever seen played from opening serve to final point. I just can’t watch tennis after watching those guys for 17 years. Nadal had to play his absolute best for 5 sets to win against the great Federer. Tennis history!

They forgot the best point of them all , when federer defended a match point in the tie break with a backhand down the line....... the audience's reaction was louder than football fans when a team scores in a final .

Frankly, apart from the 2004-2006 period, looking back at these videos, I can only now see just what an underpowered scapel that PS90 racket he used back then was and how much it allowed Nadal to bully Federer with huge heavy strokes, even on grass. Seriously, those backhands by Fed are just bunts! In 2019, their shots were much more powerful than 2008. Fed's shots were just cannon balls compared to this match and Nadal too was hitting with far more power. Rafa was an absolute gazelle in 2008. In Rome that year, he made Djokovic look like he was facing a wall.

Undoubtedly the greatest Wimbledon Final I have ever witnessed. It was apparent that 2008 was not Federer's year after being so dominant for the last 3 years. However, Nadal was fully prepared to tackle the King of Grass at that time, whereby he learnt from his past mistakes & avoided them that night. Even to win a point against Nadal was a big task for Federer. The beauty of that match was the way Federer came back from being 2 sets down, facing match points in the 4th set tiebreak & dragging him to the decider for the final score to end at 9-7 when the lights were also tired & almost faded. I don't think we can ever witness something like this. After the 1980 Wimbledon Finals between Borg & McEnroe, this was the best !!
