Most of the player now use slicing technique. I use it very often because I dont get tired playing while my opponent is running here and there and gets tired. Even I lose I dont get tired so much compared with my opponent who doesn't slice a lot. Tan and other player like Ashleigh Barty, Maria Tatjana, Ons Jabeur impose the technique to their advantage. Congrats Tan!

Serena looked so exhausted, hitting like an ordinary recreational player. Many praised Harmony, but I am not impressed with her. IMO a good player would have finished Serena in no time, probably 10-0. Lets see if she can pass 2nd round. But I highly doubt that.

Oh I love it. I lost all respect for Serena after her rant, to put it mildly, at the US Open Final. I used to love to watch the Williams sisters, now I love to watch Serena lose. Funny how no-one talks about that moment with the umpire. Also notice how she didnt shake the chair umpires hand after her loss. Well done to Tan for slowing the game up.

Tan had a great tournament reaching the 4th round and I've got the feeling that Serena will play really well in the US Open if she play few lead up tournaments before.

I was torn watching this match because obviously it's nice to see Serena win but it honestly wouldn't have been fair for Tan to get knocked out so early because of a 'wildcard'. I was glad she advanced, and she might just go further. She reached deep within herself and discovered a game she didn't know she had that night.

Walks off court, she has 2 hours before her next flight home....adios....
