You pretty much have to do this as a solo as well. I must've crafted 30 sturdy spears just to get a high enough level to have a chance at crafting a better axe. I don't wanna waste all those spears so chuck it in a public box.

Yeah all these promises the devs are making are complete BS they dont even know how to give plot space without it taking up so much resources that they have to charge people for a tiny slice of land. Either they are incompetent or they are lying because they just dont know how to monetize the game since they said they wont make a cash shop. All the other games you mentioned you can cover the entire map from top to bottom except new world . Theres no point in making a game like this then giving out such small pieces of land and charging for them.

And then combat will evolve and all their small collection points will get tested by enemies of the state lol. Can’t wait to see it as it changes :)

Where does the information about wiping come from?

@@Utilizator47 it's from the developers. They plan to wipe multiple times for early access and just before full release. All progression will be lost. All your levels and all your gear everytime they wipe, you will have to restart from square one. Edit: it's 50/50 if you keep plot placement with buildings, depending upon what the updates require

Soloing is definitely possible. I know this because I’m having a blast doing it.

weird i have 50 hours in and im having a lot of fun. day one was terrible due to technical problems but now i got a nice house built and im doing dungeons with my clan. thats less than a dollar per hour so its good in my book

I could pay 40 bucks for a game, a movie, a serie, a book, that make me experience something truly unique and amazing. I'm a bit skeptic about this whole "dollars per hour ratio to evaluate if I have fun". In Pax Dei's case, sorry but the facts can't be put aside. Even for some "fun". 30 millions. 4 years in dev. No quest. No npc. No class. No trading feature. No economy mechanic. No lore. No town. Which is all fine, the game advertise itself as sandbox and said none of this will be there. What I point out with those facts is : nothing of a classic MMO features, yet 30 millions put in the game for crafting and construction ? Spam right click melee combat is not a fun mechanic in dungeon. Or in PvP. Or in a game. Combat is the central element in a "medieval" realistic sandbox MMO. Releasing the feature as is right now is beyond me. Almost no changed where brought to the game from the first alpha to this day. Apart from minor changes on craft, how much ressources you need and restricting further solo or small group plays. Yet, I quote the devs : "it will be a game in which you are free to play as you want, solo or with a group". No changes to the gathering feeling (like actually chopping a tree or hitting a rock). No changes to the combat. No changes to the dungeons. No changes to the PvP or better yet, no inclusion of any relevant PvP form to a game in which PvP was told to be paramount, and again I quote : "We do not want PvP to appear as a separate mode and thus create a gap between PvP players and PvE players. PvP should be an integral part of the world and the economy. We plan to offer players interesting and consistent ways to engage in PvP." So PvP right now is none existent, after 4 years of development, in a game in which PvP should be an integral part of the world and economy. Such quotes are plenty. They say something, and yet the in-game facts tell a different story. Just how the devs say it's not a survival game, yet every game features show the opposite. Just how the devs say it's a social MMO and yet again, no features in the game support this claim. Now Pax Dei asks 40 bucks, at least, from players when the said players told 20 bucks would be reasonable in a poll organized by the devs. Again, there's more of such example where devs ask but don't listen. Propose to buy virtual land for real money. Talks about paying a sub each month when the full release comes out. Supposedly in 1 year. Yet in 1 year time gap, alpha to EA, nothing major changed and yet they expect to release in 1.0. Don't get me wrong. I do hope the game goes somewhere and unleashes its potential. I truly do. 30 millions, 4 years, no changes in the last 1 year and a half, for an ambitious MMO, which often cost many more millions and many more years to develop, and they affirm the game will go out in 1.0 in one year ? I don't buy it. Or if the game does come out in 1 year, the state of the game will be as far as possible from the vision they had for it. Thus the skepticism I have toward Pax Dei.

What would make it better for you? It's an early access sandbox game, with a focus on crafting. It's kinda janky, but the base is pretty solid

@@rodstarr21first of all its not about me its about what would make it appeal to a massive audience. Then again I couldnt give a shit to argue about why its trash, the people who bought the game are just blindly defending the devs, its honesty sad. The game will never see more than 15k players.
