@@KokoFixed Similar for me with stonewall. I watch these speedrun videos over and over. Best education so far in 3 years of learning chess

Just curious, what would be the strongest argument to play the French over the Caro-Kann?

Probably that people don't face it as much. The French has a bad reputation and isn't recommended much so people don't know how to play against it

​@@depan55 I used to play French a lot but abandoned it for the Caro-Kann and immediately got better results. I don't want to assume necessarily that it was because of the opening because I could have just been misplaying it. I was just curious from a theoretical point of view if there is a good case for the French

Checkout the Tarasche variation that Aman teaches in his building habits series…has been pretty solid defense (attack) against the french for me :)

Is Aman spelling defense wrong on purpose?

i just looked it up, it's spelled both ways. "defense" is the American-english spelling and "defence" is the British-english spelling. Seeing as he's from Canada it makes sense that he might use the British-english version.
