Thanks for that video. You’re the first one. I saw that actually had a lot of guns in there to show what it would look like. I’ve been looking at these safes and I was impressed but you did bring out some points and I will look at them before I purchase. Thanks again

Nice video, I have the same safe and will be getting another one. Definitely can't fit many long guns in it when the long guns have pistol grips, scopes or other accessories attached. Just an info note in case anyone is interested, I contacted the manufacturer and it turns out they do not manufacturer this safe with the door hinges on the left. Only on the right. I like the light you used and will be looking to get lights like that for mine.

I have no clue about the construction of your home but to give you an idea mine is upstairs with a basement below and have not had any issues. I do have mine sitting at an angle of a corner of the room which disperses the weight a little more over the floor joist.

is the back-up key seriously just a basic tubular key lock? they sell tools on ebay that can pick those in a few minutes
@GunsandGearNetwork2 жыл бұрын
Correct, it is a tube key. Almost all safes come with a tube key as the backup key style. They sell pics that can pic 99.9% of all locks. I can be in most homes in America in less than 2 minutes in most cases. That is why I have backup of backups in my homes when it comes to security. Alarms, driveway alerts, guard dogs, locks, safes, etc. However, they all can be defeated by the right person. With that said 99% of thieves and criminals look for easy targets unless the risk is worth the reward.

Thanks for the video man. Actually just ordered this safe and it will be here this coming Tuesday. I had multiple rifles in my closet but decided it was time to put them in something a little more secure. The days of gun display cabinets are over. I had to let some go also. It was hard to let them go just because We never like to part with our toys but I only shot like 2 regularly. Are you a collector?

Do the bolts that you take out of the legs double for angering to the concrete?
@GunsandGearNetwork2 жыл бұрын
You could anchor it but to be honest I dont really see a need. It would take quite a bit of effort to get this out of your house.
@Christopher_R2 жыл бұрын
Anchoring isn’t to prevent the safe from being taken, it’s to keep the safe upright so that someone trying to break in can’t push down using their body weight on a pry bar.
@GunsandGearNetwork2 жыл бұрын

@GunsandGearNetwork2 жыл бұрын
Nice and thick.
@Motoicon2 жыл бұрын
They are thick if you count the wood, carpet cladding on the inside. However, the sidewall metal is probably only 16ga. I would first drill a 1/4" hole and run a borescope in to see the inside. Next, cut open a square hole about 6"x6"-10"x10" to extract what I could. Probably take about 30 min per opening.

It's an OK safe but it has a crap lock. The key backup is a security risk and the lock itself is junk. I had to enter the combination on mine 2 or 3 times before it would unlock every time. Fortunately it has a standard bolt pattern for the lock so you can replace the lock with a quality lock from S&G or LaGard. I put an S&G mechanical lock on mine and it's both more reliable and more secure.

2 people can move it 370 pounds isn’t that heavy
@GunsandGearNetwork2 жыл бұрын
Yes two people can move it but it is not "easy" to move. All safes can be moved with enough effort, and people. Bolt it to the floor and it will help make it harder for to anyone getting it out.
@largeleif2 жыл бұрын
Bolt it down then
@TexasTrained2 жыл бұрын
I don't think I'd want any safe that's so small two people could carry it out my front door. A 64 gun safe is as small as I'd even consider buying.
@GunsandGearNetwork2 жыл бұрын
I understand your thinking. I forgot to mention it can be bolted to the floor. I will say it would not be easy for two people to take it out the door. It was far from easy for us to get it in the door even with a hand truck. Could it happen? Maybe but not easy to do. Depending on how it's loaded you are talking over 500 lbs. Also, I have other security measures like a home alarm, dogs, etc. A 64 gun safe might not work for some people for many reasons even if it is just price point alone.

@@GunsandGearNetwork U TOOK THE WORDS OUT OF MY MOUTH... LOL😁... @Ethan-ur7qi2 жыл бұрын
Ammo is heavy when you stock pile it like TP at the start of a pandemic. Guns, ammo, safe all bolted down and a fork lift ain’t moving it. If the 64gun safe isn’t anchored, it’s still easy picking for anyone that comes prepared. Not everyone has a farm shed of space either. Or do we just bolt a used Briggs cash truck directly to the driveway out the front of the house 😂
@IAMRUSTEDROOT2 жыл бұрын
@@Ethan-ur7qi Exactly. I just filled up a metal ammo can with 1000 rounds of 5.56. It weighs 30lbs. Once you fill up a 380lb safe with firearms and ammo, it could easily exceed 500-600lbs

Don’t buy a Winchester safe. The keypad on mine failed at 1 year and one week. They wouldn’t honor the warranty. Have to pay $65 and wait for delivery of the keypad to get my guns out of it.
@GunsandGearNetworkАй бұрын
Mine is still working fine. I did recently change the battery. In fairness all "warranties"" have to end at some point. Mine has a key override in case I would ever have an issue with the keypad.
@GunsandGearNetworkАй бұрын
Just FYI if your keypad was working as far as it was beeping but just wouldn't release the lock that is the battery. Mine was doing that recently even though the battery tested good. I bought one of those Energizer Max batteries and problem solved.
