I work at tractor supply and I bought this safe I love it it holds all my guns and ammunition. It was easy to install, I unbolted the stands off the bottom of mine.

I know it’s not the greatest but I live on the second floor and the reason I purchased it was because the door comes off and it made it a bit lighter to bring up the stairs, I had it strap to a dolly . Also I liked that it came with 2 keys because I have heard of safe keypads failing .

I just came across this today online. $500?! Picking it up next week - my current safe is getting crowded.

I was gonna buy this until I saw that it has a basic tubular lock for the back-up. Those things are very easy to pick and eBay has a tool for like $8 to so.

Mine is a 24gun, it doesn't have the key override damn it. The sales info on it says "It's a high security keypad without the vulnerable key override" lmao yea ok. Think I paid more too. Damn it again. Still love it, I just hope the keypad dont break! That key override is a very nice feature in my opinion. NICE SAFE!

(she doesnt own guns but wants a big safe with adjustable shelves). I take it just that center divider doesn't come out and you can place shelves in the left side if you want to?

had mine delivered today it's heavy gave the delivery guy $20 to help me get it to the porch he was going to leave it by the street. I was able to get it into the house by laying it down on a four wheel wooden dolly from harbor freight then rolled it into the house on its back side. I was wondering are the legs on the bottom for a pallet jack and supposed to be removed after the safes put into place or leave them on ?

Just got mine, I don’t like the stand it comes on, I want it flush with the floor for better stability but they welded the nuts on the stand.

Does the door have a lot of wiggle or play in it when closed? Went to tractor supply the other day and they did not have this safe on display, but they had the 12 gun model. The door had a lot of wiggle to it even when latched. How does this one compare?

FYI, that override key is not a feature, it's a security weakness created to compensate for a cheap, unreliable electronic lock. That tubular lock can be picked with a cheap $10 tool in literally 10 seconds. Rule of thumb, key bypass on ANY safe is a red flag.

I bought the same model a couple of months ago, last week I notice the Handle hub started to get a little bit loose, is that normal? I contacted Winchester and they sent a tech over, he said these safes are supposed to have a little play on the handle, but its not from left to right its more like front to back if that makes any sense... Just saying keeping 5000$ in a 499$ safe is not cost effective the safe should be the best thing that you can afford for piece of mind nothing is fail safe but if you only have a 200$ gun that will be fine

My safe worked well for 6 years. Now it won’t open. Changed the battery (yes, Duracell). Wiggled it, vibrated it, won’t freaking open. Mine came with no key. Now I get to wait two days for a customer service response and according to online forums they’ll tell me to hire a locksmith. Not recommended.

At $499 I guarantee that’s garbage. Just the fact it has a “backup” tubular lock that can be picked with a $20 tool in about 20 seconds is ridiculous.

This safe has a dangerous vulnerability and should not be purchased. Can be opened in seconds without a key or the pin combination. Avoid!

Overall, I think this is a decent/Okay safe for the class it's in. However, & realistically, it's a budget safe. In the WORLD of gun safes. It's the Toyota Camry/Corolla of safes... It's certainly NOT in the same class as lets say, the Mercedes Benz S550, Ferrari F1. That gap around the door 😯 tho. A half witted thief, IF they ddo get the safe out of your house, to work on it, they could, and will, very easily start prying with a inserted crowbar INTO THAT LARGE GAP around the whole door 😠💪😡 The steel used to manufacture, is welded, and pieced together, NOT 1 piece. The steel used is probably 12-14 gauge ( thin ) They put a key access in, because the electronic keypad, is just NOT that good. Any higher dollar safe WON'T have a keyed "Backup", because FACTS, they are using HIGH tech, made extremely well, keypad, and locking mechanisms. That generally, just DO NOT EVER fail. However like everything in life. There are Okay things, better things, good things, and Top of the line things. This safe falls into the Okay things. It certainly is budget friendly to most, however when we spend $1300+ on just 1 rifle, thousands in ammo, and thousands in other weapons, handguns etc. etc. etc. Why put $10,000+ dollars of guns and other items in a $450-$599, a mass produced, relatively El cheapo model safe. That same $$ can be put towards a better built safe. There is A TON of research needed to be done when buying a safe. I'm NOT picking on this safe. It CERTAINLY will keep the honest, HONEST. It will do what it says Fire rating, etc. etc. There is HOPE for this and models like it. HOWEVER, Overall it's in the just Okay, for your money. 👀🦾🤔🤑😀🤔😯

Listen guys, we all want a good deal and save as much money as possible. The saying ‘ you get what you pay for’ is especially true for gun safes. You have to spend real money to get a quality safe. We all have thousands and thousands of dollars worth of guns, jewelry, important documents, even cash stuck in our safe , but nobody wants to spend more than $500 for one. A quality safe will start at about 3k and only go up from there. You don’t have to spend 7k, but anything under 3k is garbage. Do your research and you’ll see just how much steel and fireproofing is in them. If it’s not at least rated as a residential security container, it’s not a real safe. Just the facts. Start at Amsec, Fort Knox, Brown safes and go from there. Hope this helps a little.
