I bought the SA 20 based on your excellent reviews and love it. I use it to shoot skeet at my 2nd home and it hasn’t disappointed! Thanks for your great review!

Yes, the SA-20 is a very good gas gun for the money.

No doubt the reason for the large trigger guard is to make shooting easier while wearing gloves.

Hey Randy, sometimes more (trigger guard) is not a good thing! And I'm with you on safeties...like mine at the back! I own an older Winchester model 12 in 16ga. but I have never liked the safety in the front of the trigger guard! Personal preference I guess. That's why I always liked the Browning Auto-5s.....large safety head with texture,easy to find and work! New A-5's aren't that bad either! Thanks for sharing!

Love your videos and articles! So, on the topic of pump shotguns, what are your thoughts on the new RemArms fieldmaster/wingmaster? I have held a few in the stores and they seem very promising. I wonder what one will be like once polished and broken in a bit 🤷

It is just adequate, with a plastic trigger guard, a molested buttstock (sling stud), no warranty, and low quality walnut. It is a slightly upgraded Express, not in the same league with a Wingmaster.

I have the field model with a 26" barrel. Overall it's not a bad gun. Its no Ithaca model 37 but it will do as a beater...The checkering is decent so there is no complaint about a slippery forearm. The function of the action, including the heavier than ideal trigger, is more than acceptable. It fits me and it points nice. I like the shorter length of pull as it works with a hunting coat and heavy shirt for later season hunting. But I have to agree on the position of the safety. Unfortunately Winchester has been putting the safety in front of the trigger on their pumps forever and in my opinion the positioning just does not lend itself to being very intuitive. I've bitched about it since I first handled a model 1200 decades ago which was also a less than stellar example of what a pump gun should be.

I can’t agree with you on the safety position. I really hate safeties behind the trigger, and much prefer them in front. Also the trigger guard is oversized to allow for use by a gloved hand in cold weather.

I have 2 sxp my brother has 2 and my buddies have them too none us have ever had a problem with a stickey safety I will agree the safety button is in a weird place though I like my dads 1300 a 100 times better

I thought the same but I tried one of my buddies SXP on a dove hunt.... I bought one by that afternoon hunt. It's built to the SPECs Browning sent and their quality control seems to be good. I've had mine a couple years and have paired it with a JEBs .690 and Carlsons Cremator .715 chokes ( depends on what I'm hunting) and I've been impressed with the price and performance. The action was a little stiff at first, but after a week's worth of dove hunting, it was broken in. I've got several nice high end semi-autos, and some really good pump guns (my favorite all around pump is my Browning BPS) but the SXP gets used a lot especially during inclamate weather or areas, and when people need to borrow a gun.

The SXP isn't a high quality gun. It may be built to "SPECS"-- but bad specs, and a mediocre design. The 1300 XTR was a far better finished model.

I have the 20 guage field model with the 26 inch barrel. It's fairly light, points well, patterns good and fires when I pull the trigger. It fits me well. I guess if I put a thousand or more dollars into it, I would be picky about every little detail. But that's not the case. It does what it's supposed to do when I need it to. Can't ask for more than that at a good price.

@@RandyWakeman I mean it's a 400$ shotgun, it's not going to be perfect, but for that price it is on par or out preforms it's competition. It's not a BPS or Wingmaster by any means, but it works perfectly fine and the "stiff" safety will loosen up with use and proper cleaning and maintenance.

I came here to compare it to the mossberg 500. He said Turkey and made my decision for me.
