This piece is the basis of his Op.4, which is a remake of this piece.
Adore this piece, by showing the fluent, lyrical melody lines for the winds.

I would absolutely play this if I had 2 bassoons, 2 horns, 2 clarinets, and another oboe.

A shining example of Beethoven's ability to work with and orchestrate for winds. I would have to say that he, Liszt, Wagner, and Berlioz were the ultimate orchestrators for all eras.

@@hjo4104 Beethoven's use of the timpani, winds, and a lot of times strings is much superior to Mozart. His orchestral counterpoint is also way better.

@@hjo4104 There are tons of Beethoven overtures that are better than Mozart ones. His symphonies are way better, too.

Mozart’s writing for woodwinds is also supreme. And what about the orchestration of Mahler, Richard Strauss, Ravel and Stravinsky? They are even more advanced than the ones you mentioned.

The only criteria to judge all music No matter what all these crazy terms is that someone quoted. I don' know what they mean or whatever it stand for. Never studied one note of music yet music brings me joy and beauty The problem is people stare themself blind at technicalities and forget what music is about. By the way one can not compare Mozart and Beethoven Different styles different era . Try to compare the Beetles with Queen Just the view of an old man enjoying classical music to the FULL
