It's called an Accordion because it can go from 6 inch to 12 inch wide, and is super adaptable to lots of different styles of weaving. You can do inkle, card, tapestry, rigid heddle, Navajo and even bead weaving on it! It's like getting a whole bunch of looms for one easy price! Oh wow! I've seen this loom on you etsy site but never really realized how versatile it is until now! I've been thinking about getting an inkle loom but now I know what I really need is one of these! I hope your etsy shop comes back online soon!

From the time you said that it could expand the twelve inches I immediately thought, to use it as a rigid heedle loom. Then you talked about standing it up and my mind thought, for tapestry weaving. I love the versatility of this. Especially as someone who is interested in different types of weaving.

this loom is brilliant!! The double sides would make it so very stable especially when weaving in the wider width! 12 inches of inkle BEE still my heart I cant believe what this will do for potential!! The versatility makes this incredible , I am nearly speechless !! Your quality is on point I have two other looms from you , but now this I cant wait to get it. And it folds into a bag, what am I dreaming?? I woke up at 5 am to order it I made myself sleep on it ! Don't wait just buy this one !!!

Wow, this has so many uses. Looking forward to purchasing it for tablet weaving. Would be so easy to make a small purse with card weaving on this! You guys rock! :)

I just saw you Accordion loom on the inkle Facebook group. Had to come see your video about it. That is a super neat versatile loom!! I have one of your Harp looms that I love. I already have a large double sided inkle loom that I purchased over a year ago, so I can't get one of yours just yet. I am mainly a beader working in the various styles such as peyote, brick, square and loom. I haven't tried loom beading on my double sided inkle yet, it is warped with thread at the moment. I have 2 beading looms I use for my bead work, but I truly think your Accordion loom would be great for beading on too. Just a thought for another way to use such a versatile beautiful loom. :)

Yes! I think you are right. I am setting one up as a tapestry loom this evening and I think it would be great for beading as well. Thank you for your kind words! We tried to make a loom that is very versitile for the crafting weaving... without breaking the bank. I'm so glad you like your Harp! It's actually the Harp that we based the Accordion on... one day we had a left and a right one to ship and they got nestled and all the sudden, the lightbulb went off and we said, what if we made a doubled sided Harp! And so we did. But then we began to see that it could do all sorts of things!!! It is a great loom and I can't wait to share it with the world! :-)

I have the accordion loom and it's been great. I also have the 12" rods but I haven't used them yet. Could you make a video that shows the whole process of warping the accordion for rigid heddle weaving? I've never done anything but inkle weaving and I'd really like to try rigid heddle on my accordion.

Late reply, but it works like it would for any other rigid heddle. You'll just need to tie on your (included) apron rods.

I have been saving up to purchase one of your lovely looms; I had been planning on buying the Harp loom you carry in your Etsy store. This would work even better! Will this loom be available in the same types of wood that your other looms are? Thank you for sharing your videos with us! :)

Hi! It should be available within a day or two at the most. Right now it's just available in red oak. We've been having a lot of issues with finding the right sizes of the other woods, so well, it just makes it a little hard. If you really want either walnut, maple or cherry, we can do so, it just might take a little longer and of course a bit of a upcharge in cost. But it will still be reasonable! :-) Thanks!!

Is 12" width the 'maximum that is practicable (from an "engineering" point of view)? I think I want one with 6, 12, 15, 18, and 24-inch rods!

Late to the party, but you could probably make your own wider rods with dowels and double ended bolts if you were so inclined.

The website says it doesn't ship the Accordion to Canada, will it be delivered over here anytime soon?

Do u have both looms 6” and 12” round dowels for that price

You can get it as a Deluxe version and it comes with both the 6 and 12" rods. Or you can get it as a Basic version and get either 6 or 12. But you can always add additional rods later and get your own heddle, too! Very versatile.

We have a new model, the Concertina, which is like the Accordion, but less money. :-) I hope that might help. It's a double sided loom, just smaller and a few less accessories.
