Hi everybody, Welcome to my review of the Windlass Battlecry Espada Ropera Review. This sword is a new Rapier offered by Windlass Steelcrafts and one of a handful new swords and blades available from their Battlecry Line. So how does this sword compare to a historical Civilian Rapier it replicates as well as other Rapier available on the market? Well stay tuned and we'll find out.
This sword can be purchased from these links,

Love your reviews! You can tell you have proper knowledge of what you’re talking about which is refreshing 😂. I would love a proper review of the Windlass Brandonberg Rapier! I’ve had my eye on it for a while. Keep killing it!

Thanks, I appreciate the voice of confidence! That is a nice one and I've considered that one as well. Perhaps in the future I might pick one up and give it a review.

That’s the same sword that the villain used in the movie “The Princess Bride”. Very beautiful sword. Good review David 👍

You’re the first guy to review this sword properly as far as I can tell - should hopefully get you tons of views from people looking into it and the following your channel deserves! Great review again!

Thanks! Appreciate the support, there's a lot of interesting details regarding Rapier and yes I agree not a lot of channels cover these details. Me too lol, that'd be awesome!

Thank you David for another great cool sword review! I’ll admit that if I could afford it, I’d certainly buy it & play with it like an idiot, probably until I hurt myself or break something, but hey, it’s a NEW SWORD! All is worth that! I mean, come on, it a SWORD! If you don’t understand that I don’t think we can be friends with anymore. 😂 Just teasing you of course. But looks great for the price in the market! Great find for everyone man, thanks! Best wishes to you and your family. ✌️🇺🇸

Glad to see this review! I've been wondering about it since I saw it first appear on the museum replicas site. In the specs listed for on KoA made me think it might be a bit heavy and clunky. Glad to hear that it really is not.

Thanks, yea it's a nice Rapier. Best I've handled sub $400 and a lot better balanced than a lot of the Del Tin models.

Is it rigid enough? The other rapier with the same hilt is supposedly very floppy. I bought a hanwei replacement blade for a custom rapier and was very disappointed: blade is 6mm at the base has perfect distal taper and is still very floppy, point was bend and the secondary bevels are done at a 45° angle and the blade does not spring back to true entirety

It is, it has flex but not whippy at all compared to others I've handled, completely different blade than the 17th Century Italian Rapier, just the same hilt.

I am wondering if you happen to know if the battle cry messer has the same blade as the cold steel messer? If so what are your thoughts on that? Thank you!

Sorry not familiar with either messer. Probably very similar though as anything made in India and sold by Cold Steel is made by a subsidiary of Windlass.

Forgive me if I missed it, but what kind of distal taper does it have? How thick is it at the guard or between the guard and the grip? thanks

Nah I don't document distal taper, but I mentioned it in the final thoughts, but yes it has decent distal taper compared to other Windlass Rapier. Do you mean the thickness of the Riccasso? If so, I'd say about 1/8" thick and about 1/4" wide and tapers into the encusion.
