That's Great, I'm 63 this seems a bit complicated I might have to watch it 3 or 4 times. I have been using a Microsoft account for a long while so I am ok with that. I mostly want that encryption off and recall when it arrives. I already created a USB with Rufus, I usually like to reinstall every couple of years.

I would love to see an in deep iso video. I hope they can be create with custom group policies. I know they are long videos to do create and require more attention to watch, but I really like learning this type of stuff in one go. Your instructions/teaching skills are very clear even for someone like me that do not speak english natively. I really like your content and appreciate all the efforts you put into it! Thanks Brian for this excellent video, I'll opt for a dual boot system and reinstall this modified installation while still running 23H2. I 'm then able to rebuild my 24H2 and it's programs at my leisure. I hope you'll consider the in-depth tutorial. 👍👍

I couldn't resist trying this on my laptop, currently running Windows 10. I got a perfect install, but, even though I wanted Windows Defender, gone, I still had to use another script to get rid of all the security nags, but, this was a very helpful video. Cheers Guv!

Thanks for that Brian. I recently had to set up a new Asus laptop for a customer, but found it went straight into S-Mode, and I couldn't do any of the Shift-F10 stuff to bypass the MS Account etc. And it wouldn't even let me install Chrome or Firefox directly. I eventually got around it by disabling Secure Boot and then going to the Windows Store to disable S-Mode itself. So I think it would be very helpful if you could do a video about S-Mode - what it is, what it does, and how to disable it. Thanks again Brian.

@@Britec09 Brian, you gave me an excellent idea with your video. Over the past year NordVPN included a most annoying updater.exe, which adds a new key in HKCU 'runonce', every time I open NordVPN. Frustratingly, each time I would restart Windows 10 its ‘Update NordVPN’ install box appeared, as soon as Windows started. I just blocked that .exe, in gpedit, and it no longer adds that key to the registry. Thank you so much, once again, mate

You should've shown us the task manager to see process count, RAM usage and also Installation footprint from the Explorer. Because those are crucial when you are talking about a lightweight Windows ISO. Thanks!

@@Britec09 Thanks Britec, is that the file in this video? Okay I'm confused, this file needs to modify an iso of win11, I didn't think that during an upgrade from 10 to 11 that MS loads the whole iso onto your computer then reboots to it. Am I missing something here. Thanks again.

I’d like to see an unattended Win 11 installation where the system drivers can also be handled without MS Updates bringing in older versions or having to install them one at a time, if that is possible, plus apps like Chrome or Firefox or other apps you’d use regularly.

Search for Chris Titus and his Windows Utility. The best available script for setting up your system in minutes. You can install anything through that, and control the whole system.

Well, I followed the well described video and eventually produced my custom ISO....! So far so good. However, either I somehow missed it, but how did the video jump from producing the custom ISO to the actual install? What happens in between? How is the ISO "loaded" to clean install the custom ISO? I didn't understand or follow this part....

btw the encryption thing, you can turn it off. Or there is a registry bypass which is ludicrous that we even need one. But either way if people are made aware of it, they can at least (day late, dollar short) turn it off after. I think encryption is great but it needs to be done with care and understanding AND on purpose. I prefer VeraCrypt for such applications of OS encryption.

TPM requirement: If your device has a TPM (Trusted Platform Module), disabling Secure Boot might not automatically disable BitLocker. You might need to temporarily suspend BitLocker or provide the recovery key during startup.

By default, BitLocker provides integrity protection for Secure Boot by utilizing the TPM PCR[7] measurement. An unauthorized EFI firmware, EFI boot application, or bootloader can't run and acquire the BitLocker key..

That would need testing. If you do it you could be the first to document it. I think the secure boot is required for it, but I could be wrong. I was once before.

@@fetr9666 You can disable it is what I am saying. either via the GUI or commandline you can easily turn it off. You just need to be aware of it so you can decide if you want to turn it off. You could leave it on but use the commandline to generate a backup restore password and that would be fine. But in terms of security I trust bitlocker enough to protect against hackers but not enough against state actors. if I were flying to china or Russia I would not trust bitlocker. I would want VeraCrypt.

You can install programs and drivers and lots of other things using scripts

If only that was was all live on the page. I like stuff like that where you can save the page so it works even if the internet is down or the site disappears one day. Unfortunately that is a proper site and requires back-end processing :( Still, good for as long as it lasts.

@@Britec09 True. But my personal preference, after being burned by sites and pages with tutorials vanishing, whenever I find a useful tutorial, I save the page so I can refer back to it on my own. I have a page I saved so that I can make bold and italic text for social media and it works offline even which is great. That link you have works great, it just requires internet to initially generate it. Nothing wrong about it and most people wouldn't mind. I just was a bit disappointed lol.

The co-pilot is going to be a problem for Microscam people will use Revo or wise uninstaller to try and disable or delete co-pilot and bit-locker in Windows. Micrscam want to control everything a user does on the PC they're using.

For the past 2 weeks ever since I have update my Win 11, I have to disable HyperV every day after boot up. Even disabling it does not work, every time I switch my pc on, I have disable HyperV.

I'm sorry if I'm being dense but can we then use something like Rufus to create a bootable USB from this newly created ISO? Or, a better question - how do we get this custom ISO to the new machine? Not by installing Windows from a disc, I hope. I'm not familiar with AnyBurn. Does it also create bootable USB?

I still believe that switching to a Linux distribution such as even Ubuntu is the only option; however, if you need more privacy you really should look at distributions with XFCE instead. Ultimately, Linux is the only option.

That was my thought too lol, I mean this awesome piece of software also has the option for you to insert your password.... Yep nothing wrong with that, you lot go ahead and disable all your windows main security settings and then type your passwords in to a random program. Nothing wrong with that.

Given the step between injecting the ISO and installing the OS is not present I will assume it's the same old use Rufus to write it to USB Stick. So yeah this should not be an issue.

I have no problem with bit-locker…except for the SSD slowdown and I plan to turn it off. I don’t see the benefits for Recall and at this point I plan to turn it off.

Updates set to manual, RUFUS install 24h2 ready to debloat and deploy...W.I. exit complete...my 5 yr. old O.S. is ready to clean-install. This may well be my last year on windows.

I'm coming at you from San Diego, California USA and other than trying to view the screen presentation of your otherwise excellent presentation, I either cannot find any link on your site nor gain access to the site using the domain name I believe I see in fine print on your screen. It may also be that the KZfaq I am viewing does not actually start at the beginning of your actual presentation or that somehow I cannot access the domain name I believe I am seeing. If I get more time later today I will try again by setting up my VPN to a more local point. At this point, I unfortunately am unable to actually identify the software application you refer to because it doesn't seem to be mentioned.
