My father used to be a custodian with a dental school around here. He got a windsor xp12 from work for much less (because it had been used for a while) and we still constantly use it about 25-30 years later with literally no major hardware failures aside from the cord (the plug end succumbed to fatigue but we replaced that part of the cable). If you want one vacuum to last for half a lifetime then this is definitely the one to go forever.

I don't understand why all vacuums don't have the strip behind the brush roll. It's a cheap addition that easily solves the solution of debris kick back on hard floor and carpet.

Great review! I have the residential version of the windsor, (sebo x4). I love how accurate the automatic height adjustment is. It senses to lower down in high traffic areas of carpeting.

Right, I actually learned a lot more about that aspect since I made this review. I talked at length about it with the SEBO people at the trade show. I wish I had included more info about it in the video.

I work on several of them at a hotel. They're busted up pretty bad. Lots of areas where they break. We buy after market bags, and it seems like windsor did a redesign so the bags ever so slightly wont snap into place.

I own one of the old blue and white units I bought refurbished. I absolutely love it beats trying to use our punny canister vac on carpet. One thing I like on the newer ones though is the soft start motor.

This couldnt have come at a better time.A good friend of mine and fellow collector has just got himself a Sebo 350,the first model of Sebo ever,Now my appettite for them is increased.I was Torn between a BS36 style machine like the 350/360 and the domestic style like this.I ideally want to get the BS36 style but I wouldnt be pissed at all if i manage to track down even one of these

Every time I go into a store like Aerus and they do a carpet cleaning demo of how much their machines pick up, I always like to say "Gee, you should fire your maid" after they pick up all kinds of junk. It's funny to see their expression. We all know they put the filth down there.

Great Video! What about the Sanitare 889/899 as another option? Curious to see how direct drive does vs this Windsor. Especially considering the cost difference. As always thanks! Also another bump for soft/plush carpet testing for vacuums to see if these vacuums can handle them or if they are too difficult to move due to the suction.

I have the old white/blue version of this - I love it, but its deep-cleaning ability leaves a lot to be desired. It's perfectly fine for my college dorm, but I've found that the auto height adjust limits the brushroll's ability to agitate carpet with any substantial pile depth. It's no good for the medium- and high-pile carpet in my home. That said, the Sensor S12 has a manual adjust like on the Eon and Sebo G1, so take that and replace the back plate with the XP12's squeegee plate to get a really competent all-floors upright. Cheers for the review!

Been using a prochem branded vac for household use for a dozen years. Fantastic vac and often found inexpensive. Same vac, though not sure if the same branding exists. Bought a second one to replace the cheap dirt devil vac that used to be in the basement. Nothing but bag, brush and filter ever needed for either.

A couple of you tubers have been using the Workhorse upright which is a throw back to the Fantom Thunder. You may want to take a look at it. It doesn't filter well, but it's a good vaccum. By the way, I bought the Simplicity/Riccar S40P after seing your review on the R40p. Thanks, it's an awesome performer.

Wow these are almost identical. I didnt realize sanitaire copied the design with the eon until I saw your last video on it. For carpet cleaning these are both phenomenal best in class machines. If you are going to buy an upright, carpet cleaning ability is the most important feature, I think hard floor cleaning always comes second. For that, a canister or a cheap bagless with a long usable hose is a better option if you have the need for more versatile surface cleaning ability. Otherwise, great review as always, I am really digging this new commercial series of videos!

4db is a lot. DB measurement is logarithmic so 10 gain is basically twice as loud.

Surprised what appear to be clone vacuums could be so different. Sebo and it's clones / commercial brands have such nice quality. I bought the canister just below the big D series (can't recall the letter) and it was great - except the brush roll would bog down and jam sensor would trip on a dense flokati rug I have at home, so I returned it. Perhaps I should have just gotten rid of the rug. It was that nice.

I have a Windsor-Karcher Sensor S2 12 HEPA. The brush roll got stuck on a razor blade awhile back. I long since removed the rezor blade. But I can't figure out how to reset the jam sensor. (it won't run until I do) Nor can I figure out how to remove the brush roll on it. Any help?

How would you say the XP12 works on a deep pile rug? I'm contemplating the updated version (Sebo X7 Premium) or Sebo Essential G4 since I've seen the X7 able to work on certain shag rugs (around 7/8" thick) but there's only one of those in the house. Most all the other carpets in my house are more manageable at about 3/8" deep, so there's not much of a problem with that. I just have concerns with them on something so thick because of the brush shutoff.

Being that this is made be SEBO, would you say it is no different than the X4? What can you say that is different between the two? Cause the Windsor is about $50 cheaper than the SEBO G1, and $200 cheaper than the X4.

Hey new to the channel, I see a few advantages over the shark apex I use for work every day I wonder if I am missing something but the ergonomics and minimal accessories of these brick shaped vacuums does not seem to make up for having slightly better suction and better sealing, bags are wasteful and costly. Somebody educate me.

On the Windsor you’re supposed to replace the cord with the handle. This is actually better than the Sanitaire Eon because what if the third prong on the pigtail for the Eon breaks. Then, you will have to take it apart and replace the pigtail.

The round third prong is the grounding wire wich will short the breaker if you suck up water

On the Karcher sensor s12 hepa or the sebo 300/350 the cord does plug in directly. But no pigtail. In any case the sebo is better than a Chinese copy. No offense to the Chinese.

I used to have the old blue version of this vacuum, and it was amazing. These things are exactly like a Sebo X4, and for anyone who buys this for home use, I would recommend getting genuine Sebo bags and filters since they filter much better, since they're both the same vacuum but just under a different brand.

same here. used one at a hotel to clean up some cat litter in my room and was impressed enough that i would have liked to tried a new one. the ones the staff were using were like new and that one for guests to borrow was pretty old and beat up but holding up quite well. seemed like it just needed some professional maintenance to be like new again. definitely hard to knock these machines.

You did the fog particle 5 micron test but you didn't do the particle test. HEPA is supposed be down to 0.3 micron so the fog test basically just shows leaks.

Are you going to test any commercial vacuums made by Tacony? (Carpet-Pro, Tornado, Clean Max, Tennant, etc.)

I was planning on it until I realized none of them can clean hard floors. I talked to a lot of people people at tacony trying to find a good fit for this series. But in the end I wasn't impressed wit their commercial selection.

Vacuum Wars I can see where you’re coming from, but Tennant (who are made by Tacony) has a model with dual motors - one for brushroll and one for suction (Model V-DMU-14). I also wanted to know if you were going to try any Lindhaus vacuums? Karcher owns Windsor. Windsor has the distribution rights to the Sebo designs for the commercial market in the USA.

Check the cord for continuity, most power issues with these are just replacing the cord.

I have worked with these machines a lot, and it boggles my mind that every review says they're great. They are not. I think the Sensors are the worst vacuums I have ever used. They don't even pick up visible debris in less than three passes. My $50 vacuum from Wal-Mart does it in one.
