Don't be insulted or misunderstand, but your applications of the Wing Chun dummy techniques are completly wrong. You are constantly losing your center line, leaving yourself exposed to counters. The purpose of Wing Chun wooden dummy is to "recover" when you make a mistake or lose your center line. Nothing else. It is true that there are many combinations you can practice on the Wooden dummy, but your interpretation of Wing Chun is wrong. I don't see how Yip Man and/or Bruce Lee would be proud. But to each his own. Best regards. ps: I saw your comment up above, you're practically saying that anyone who doesn't agree with your approach is a "HATER". You also put up a ratio of likes and dislikes, as if that has ANY MEANING WHATSOEVER. By now, you should have accepted the fact that you are a public figure, and people will say good or bad things based on their own opinion or experience, regardless of what they are saying is true or not. If you trully want to avoid that, if you want to have an objective audience, you should name your videos correctly.

Jake, thank you very much (and Jim!) for providing this instruction. I not only enjoyed learning this 12 move combination, but I also took several tips from this video such as how you use your body - not just arms - for your technique as well as the suggestion of switching between human and Mook Jong during your training. The latter suggestion in particular is something I want to experiment with in other areas of my training as well. Thanks again!

In wing chun particularly yip man's wing chun there are 3 main arm postures called the 3 seeds because all other arm position grow out of those 3.. even deeper it is the stance that supports the arms.. and the main form that all others come from is named after idea force.. based on principles... most styles of wing chun apply those principles even if the moves are different... but not the moves in this clip :-)

To some of the critics posting negative comments, you don't have to be a champion or have the best technique yourself to be a coach. Many of the best trainers and coaches in football, boxing, wrestling have never been champions. But, they are people who are champions in tranferring their knowledge to students just as Jake Mace has done with this video. Thanks, Jake.

Thanks for watching and for the comment! btw: this video is great and very meaningful for a lot of people! blocking doesn't work in todays soceity, maybe in the past because people were malnourished and you can null their attacks or render them weak with these defensive tactics. but if he applied those techniques against my kicks and punches. I'd break his arm and continue to his face :L Fun game to play with a partner though these tactics for a little diversity.

I'm not sure how you going to answer this question, but i would say that the known answer is NO for all Wing Chun student around the world; that is definitely not Wing Chun. I saw the kung fu passion in you, but ... you have to get yourself into it, try to understand the technique & concept... but not misleading public in your own way...

Kung Fu & Tai Chi Center w/ Jake Mace JKD/Wing Chun Kung Fu Are you ignoring what people such as this are saying? Look at the post from 3 months ago. This person along with many others truly understand that you're mocking what you're doing because you haven't studied it enough to be showing it off.. I learned a long time ago, that if you want someone to respect you, then you must first respect yourself. If you're confident, then keep this "haters" ghetto nonsense to yourself, and continue. Grow up.

+Mikestefan7 ... to teach you how to hit with the inside of the elbow, hit the chest with palm in case you want to give them a good massage (do not use your fists to hit the chest or you may actually hurt them), hold your opponent one hand with both of yours, so they have the other free to hit you. Also when your opponent grabs you for the neck you help him by pushing his hands down (not by pushing the elbows up - that would free you and you'll be bored to death).

Jake Mace does not represent Wing Chun, nor does anything he does in this video. If you don't know what Wing Chun is, I'd suggest looking at what Ip Chun does or reading his books. You'll learn more Wing Chun from watching Donnie Yen's Ip Man movies than from watching this dude chain slapping from his awful stance.

Look on the side of the Wing Chun Academi of Australia or the Club of Wing Chun Michel Boulet Article : www.montrealwingchun.com/liens/. Thank you for your video, but there's something I want to tell you. I've practicing Wing Chun for ten years and I learned the art under one of the students of Wong Shunleung, a student of Yip Man. No offense but most of what you taught in this video is not REAL Wing Chun. You can say this is just your fighting system, but please don't use the name of Wing Chun. To me and a lot of other Wing Chun practitioners, this is total disrespect. I'm not one of the those haters that you said in one of your comments, but I just hope you could study some real Chinese kung fu before telling anyone that what you're teaching is real traditional Chinese martial arts.

I’m just gonna say this.. I agree with you as far as the techniques on the JONG looking different then our standard or traditional Chinese model. No FOOK TAN BONG QUAN HUEN TOK FAK PAK GAANG OR GWOH SAO. He did say that this was his own interpretation and was just trying to inspire. I do think it’s a mistake though to call the set a WING CHUN SET. Because we have many sets (famous ones) that we do in training. Nice guy meaning well, I do see your point though. Maybe he can edit and clarify. Stop by sometime sir, I do JEET KUNE DO CALLED VIPER. It’s mainly WING CHUN (The good stuff) 💥🤓🐉 Jake is welcome to stop by if he’s not mad.. 😎🙏awesome video man!

Don't waste your time watching this. Watch Master Wong. He knows both Wing Chun and Tai chi and you'll see a big difference then what Fake Mace does. Master Wong also know some more martial art styles but that's for you to find out. Most moves for Wing Chun is different for example the disappearing hand and the broken fist and I'm sure Fake Mace don't even know any of these moves and if he makes a video showcasing those moves then most chances is that he searched it up the last moment he made the video.

mister jake, please don't be offended by my questions and my statements. first of all i would like to ask you what type of wing chun is this? because i only know 2 types of wing chun which is the shaolin wing chun and the ip man wing chun. second one, where did you learn these moves? why are they so different with other wing chun wooden dummy form. third one, would you please add some videos with real fighting? and just for you to know, wing chun has straight fast punches which come from the center line and it's not circular. you'll injure your hands if they're circular. in wing chun we have center line which means every blocks and punches come from the center line either to attack and to defend. hopefully, you can correct your movements or at least just explain us why your movements are diferent from other wing chun. No offense mister Jake, may peace be with us. God bless you.

I'm not trying to put jake down or anything, but I've noticed since the start of his first few videos of tai chi and such, alot of the stuff he covered was good, his agility and precision is very crisp and he has alot of weaponry experience by the looks of it. here is my concerns: he doesn't explain who taught him the styles, where he learnt it from. what doesn't make sense: If you backtrack his first few videos to the videos he's releasing now, you find he starts with soft styles such as Tai Chi, his physique would suggest he's done alot of physical conditioning as well as softer styles, but then later on he suggests to teach tiger claw, yet he does not call it hung gar, even if it was hung gar he wouldn't say who he learnt that from with what lineage.... and now he's bought a wing chun wooden dummy and calls this video at the end to say "ip man be proud" proud of what? so you bought a wooden dummy, how old is this guy? 28...? 30...? 32?..... younger than 40 older than 28. how much kung fu can he pack into himself at full mastery level as well as being teaching capable? where is the safety aspect of his videos? if Jake can clear this up in 1 video about who he was taught by, how he got in martial arts, WHY DOES HE KNOW EVERYTHING? but no video suggests the depth of what he knows, they are only showing the surface. or is he suggesting his style of kung fu teaching is jack of all trades and master of none? if so then why not do MMA?

I briefly studied kung-fu years ago. I've never had the pleasure of using the wing chun dummy. These techniques are not wing chun nor kung-fu. The movements are to ridged. I don't see any claims of being a teacher or practitioner of wing chun or kung-fu, but the title is a bit misleading. it's not bad to take a Wing chun dummy and make up your own techniques. You just can't call it wing chun or kung-fu.
