'Jimmy' is the first song in the Judith story. About his feelings as an 11 year old when his mom was paralyzed and reconnecting with that child to deal with trauma, integrate and move through.

I hated the idea at first, but while watching I could see the appeal. Judith is on her death bed: wings 1 Maynard is upset: Judith Judith passes away: wings 2 I see the appeal, but really it should have been Judith, Wings 1, Wings 2. Wings of Marie are meant to be played together as they are one song. Still, great reaction, it was a journey. Wings for Marie is just such a special song that most of can relate to. We've all lost someone important to us. It's the honesty of the words, the incredible musicianship. It's a masterpiece.

I don’t know what it is, but after almost 30 years of listening to Tool, your videos give these songs so much more meaning to me. Not sure why. But that “10000 days in the fire is long enough, you’re going home” and “fetch me the spirit the son and the father, tell them their pillar of faith has ascended. It’s time now, my time now, give me my wings.” Always brings tears. Brutal

I've cried so many times on the EXACT parts you mention...and very few songs have ever made me cry. I feel like I love his mother like he does. He puts aside his personal biases and meets his mother directly in her faith, using "this little light of mine" that she instilled in him through her faith, to meet her where she is at and to let her know that, according to her faith, she saved him from eternal damnation. So beautiful how he then argues for her to be treated as a saint to the holy trinity. Just amazing.

Listen. I'm a devout Christian. My husband passed unexpectedly in April, I understand everything in these 3 songs more than I ever have in my life. I enjoyed them before but I had never felt loss like that until now. Judith is my current emotional state. I've told him I've hated him (God) then begged him to forgive my anger. God loves a grieving widow. He does not fear her tears nor shudder when she doubts her faith in the darkness.

Sorry to hear that. My father passed away at 62 last year. He also had sleep apnea for years and I thought thats how he would die. I used to have panic attacks at night because i could hear him choking for air when he was asleep. I'd go wake him up to make sure he was ok. I don't know what else to say but I sympathize with your pain and loss. My father died from a brain aneurysm on the morning of my 27th birthday before I got to call him back. He called me while I was on my way to work and I sent a text that I'd call him back later. Always answer your calls, it might be the last one you get

@@JimmyIronballs the reference to "Saturn comes back around" is a nod to astrology. There's a belief in astrology that the return of Saturn is a sign of a person moving from their youth into adulthood. It's a period of passing from youthful ignorance into maturity. When you take that definition and put it within the context of the lyrics in The Grudge, it totally makes sense.

It has been great to watch you experience these songs for the first time and join you on this journey. Wings Pt. 1 and 2 has so much raw emotion and heart to them. I feel that this is truth being told to us, the listener. Maynard has been very open and honest about his distrust of the congregation. The acknowledgment of his mother’s faith and want for her to have eternal peace from her “10,000 days in the fire” hits home for many I think. I honestly tear up when I hear these songs, and they (among other tool songs) move me spiritually.

Dude, the actual order should be, jimmy, Judith then Wings for Marie parts 1 & 2. Jimmy being story of Maynard @ 11 directly after her episode he had to go stay with his father while his mother learned how to live life all over due to the condition she was left in. Judith is where his anger built thinking why would she stay faithful to her beliefs cause what's happened to her & why allowed to happen to her by the Devine. And 10000 days (wings 1 & 2) is him coming to realize her had stayed committed to her Faith anyway 'til the END. How much he loved her for doing that. Then how he had to give completely love her whether he liked it or not, her right to do. The strength for him to do all 3 living the process!! I admire & love his spirit and ability to put this out publicly is as special as as to it get!! Also to perform Wings live is unhuman. 1 day w/ this man & these guys who set deep in me to inspire + lead me with energy. I'm thankful.

This song is 1 of 5 favorites of mine. The honesty intertwined with the musicianship is so fucking refreshing. Saw them play this live, all the organic sounds is Maynard on the keyboard, was so rad seeing that. Love the reaction, love tool✌

You actually gave me a new perspective on all three of these songs, especially Judith. As a believer, I have struggled with balancing the guilt of being angry at God when horrific things happen to loved ones who are Christians. Your explanation that it is okay to work through these things in my relationship with Christ and feel this way is not something popular in the church community right now. Thank you thank you thank you. This is exactly what I needed to hear today.

I seen one of your live streams and a guy kept referring to you as Jimmy! Fallon lol but it reminded me you had reacted to Judith with Wings 1&2. That was the right way but the song Jimmy from Tool is the only other song & the prequel to the entire story of Maynard and his mother Judith! So it's a must if you want the entire experience!!!! Again your an amazing reactor! 👏 Tool Jimmy

Sebs you missed pt2 of Wings for Marie. You gotta listen to 1 and 2. You can't do it the justice it deserves without both parts. I'm 34 and have been listening to Tool since I was a little girl. Definitely check out Orestes - APC. One of the most beautiful songs ever. Brings tears to my eyes. It's been incredible watching you find Tool and fall in love with them just as I did 24 years ago. It's not just music. It's emotion. An experience.

Dude your reactions to this video were hard to watch for all the right reasons. It's a gut-wrenching song and I had the same reaction when I was listening to it for the first time. Took a while for me to just kick back and enjoy the music on this one but I eventually did. Almost anyone can relate to a lot of what Maynard writes, especially with how you interpret it. My mom is a devout Christian and wants nothing more than to see me baptized some day. However, my faith has always been on uneven ground but my spirituality has not. It's an uneasy feeling that many would never understand. Great reaction, dude.... Patiently waiting for what you have next.

Also.... I've commented on this before, but a couple things to review are the "Holy Trinity", Disposition, Reflection, and Triad, in that order..... And No Quarter, Led Zeppelin cover, that can only be found on KZfaq for the most part.

Sebs, great reaction! I too consider myself more spiritual than religious but I have always liked a particular passage from the New Testament in the Bible. 1 Peter 4:12-13. I believe that trials in life can help us come to a better understanding of not only God and Christ, but also those around us. Keep up the great work!

If you'd like, in Maynard's 3rd band Puscifer he has a song called Horizons in his Conditions of my Parole album. I believe it is also about his mother, but it's more on like after years after the passing, he still misses his mother. Very cool, different style of music but still very good. Awesome reaction video man, keep up the good work and much love to you and your loved ones. 🙏

Everyone has a story and it's composed of many chapters. This is just one of Maynards. I also had a valid reason for 'hating God' and it took me a long time to figure out why that was and also why it was a waste of time and energy. That frustration had to go somewhere until I could figure out how to actually deal with it in a more positive and spiritual manner. Love your vids man, thank you.

Great job man. Its sad that people will alienate others with their ignorant words, like those who blamed his mother for what happened to her. While it’s obvious that our decisions have consequences, many of our trials, especially health challenges can’t be blamed on a lack of faith. I think this story in particular shows the opposite, that she was so strong she could endure it. What a powerful influence for Maynard.

I'm christian, and this song breaks my heart. I don't consider this blasphemy, Maynard is just being totally honest which is something we all should strive for. The 'F your god' hurts me everytime I hear it, and yet... He's honest, you know... And if I were in his position, I'd probably say the same words. There's just so much raw honest emotion in this song.
