Lithionics Blade is AMAZING! That could be a gamechanger IMO. To place it within the floor space is a fantastic feature. Line of the video.....Selective hearing is what makes for a good marriage.🤣🤣

Half the capacity and a huge waste of space compared with 1" ModVans /X Series floor battery but imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

It needs to be a hybrid, or have a generator on board so you can charge it overnight or something. I can’t thing of anywhere 45 miles away I’d like to camp. Yes, I know the range is 100 miles… but I want to get home. Getting stranded is not fun, been there done that.

Nice job Hank and Lola. That you can deliver these videos during the show is a testament to your commitment to inform your audience and your technical and logistical expertise. Your ability to get Mr. Lithionics to open up and share his vision has been a real treat. Keep up the good work.

Woot - the big thing for me at this years show -Thank you so much for showing the presentation. If you never build it then no one will ever improve it - I don't like the range of the Ford E-Transit now but I'm sure I'd be happier with it in the future when they upgrade. Thank you also for the Lithionics talk. Loved the test drive conversations. I really like that the layout inside - especially the flexible bed system that allows for different bed configurations. It really looked like a great weekend camper while still being capable of daily driving.

Great question Hank. Without charging I don’t see a vehicle with a 100 mile range I can’t see it getting to the supermarket let alone camping

@@Erin-Thor exactly until the range is at least equal to a regular engine this doesn’t hold anything over changing to batteries. Great idea on the hybrid which will extend range without sacrificing convenience. These are recreational vehicles. Having range anxiety isn’t something I will pay a premium price for.

@@Erin-Thor i agree why would you buy something to become mobile but the reality is they are more hobbled than the normal ICE vehicles. When I think of RVs I think of freedom and ease of movement.

You did a really nice job with the walkthrough with Russ. I know that the hubbub was over the EV part, but I think that floorplan and its interior materials represent a huge leap for Winnebago. Hoping that those lessons learned reappear on a gas-powered Class B.

Thank you Tom. I agree the interior design was very impressive and a huge leap forward from last years debut. I'm a fan of EV technology so I was impressed by how much further along winnebago has come and they seemed very confident in hitting a range that would be fitting for the RV market very soon.

I did liked the look of the modest flares, though thought the Transit window areas are flat and factory glass is certainly flat. Another misstatement during the tour? I also liked the look of the molded rear door inner panels, wish these were available aftermarket or from Ford direct, and would have integrated storage for lower door. Wonder if additional inner components were similar molded wood grain pieces?

I'd like to see how it performs in in climate wether like there is in some of the states and a lot of places in the states. Like -40. Some days. And it says for days like that.

108 miles, definitely need to hook up with Tesla and get that to 300-400, plus can't you use the solar panel on the roof to charge as you go to extend it further? How long will the camping mode last while not plugged in?

Now going electric for an RV is great. However, spending a fortune buying it will lead to issues of having a lack of charge ports. It sounds great on paper with this man talking on the mic. But EV cars are already having issues with driving in fear when battery levels drop whilst driving + waiting for charging sitting in a freezing vehicle during winter. We are simply not ready for anything EV. infrastructure needs to be assessed and implemented first.

Where are the batteries being manufactured? Have they considered winter camping? He mentioned lower range in cold. What about keeping the batteries warm? Will they offer an AWD?
@LolaStrange
@LolaStrange Жыл бұрын
The battery is made by Lithionics, based in Florida assembles their batteries in the USA. check ou our factory tour with the CEO kzfaq.info/get/bejne/q8mEq65yl8utj5s.html They are doing different climate tests right now with the 12 prototypes they have. The batteries are positioned under the flooring of the van. AWD....hmmmm not available from what I see

I imagine it uses the BYD blade cells the were introduced last year. Wonder why 8.4kw and 15kw capacities were mentioned, though the walk through tour presenter mixed a few items. He referred to the chassis as short wheelbase when it was the non-extended length chassis or long as Ford calls it.

@@strangerpalooza I drive a Nissan leaf 🍃 electric, and I'm waiting to get an RV when I can get an electric one. I'm kinda worried that in the near future when 20-50% of all new cars are electric, then the cost of recharging will go thru the roof.

Ford uses the same Transit to become the eTransit. It is the same chassis. Ford is not purpose building an electric vehicle from the ground up and I don't they are going to do that. So no frunk like in a Tesla.
