Karol May, what a powerhouse of imagination for a man who apparently never been to America. I've read all his books and have seen all the movies, and thought they were recorded in the western USA which they were not, apparently, but I couldn't care less for that, it's the massage that was contained in it that had such an impact on this young boy, for Winnetou was his hero and an idol. Up until today I'm still fascinated with this culture of spirituality who had no fear of death within them, just like Samurai's and other cultures where justness, clarity, completeness and unity with nature prevailed, so much misted in today's' world.

What a beautiful movie, thanks for posting. It reminded me of my childhood when I saw this movie for the first time at seven years old, the battle of good and evil, uniting not fighting. If we had more men like this would we have wars? I know I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one.

Karl May's Winnetou Movies are cult in Europe. I remember to my childhood when i saw this movies in the cinema with my father. The original of the the movie is in German.

even the original movie was dubbed into German many actors didn't speak german but other languages. A classic movie. The American Lex Barker took on the roll of Old Shatterhand because of his Swiss wife as some say

Teil, which means second part the 1. part is where winnetou and old shatterhand meet, if i recall that right. thanks! ad as someone mentioned earlier Winnetou movies are legendary in the German speaking part of the world, and that from an author who has never been to the states. amazing!

Anyone that thanks One race is better than another, should never have been put over no one in a army or have any authority over any other man. For God created us all, weather we are white, black, or yellow or any other race, he did not create one better than the other, and anyone that don't believe this should have been put in any Authority in any power, like policeman government services or armies or Navy or whatever power they may be in, they should not have no Authority, for they are in ignorance of the one that created them, and Yahweh created no one race greater than the other. And man in power in these positions should be moved out of their position of authority, that has chosen to take the past of being prejudice, or thinking One race is better than another.

Hey come on it was for kids and the guy who did write it never has been in America and never seen an Indian. As a matter of fact he wrote it in German prison. Why he was there behind bars I don't know. But I loved those movies. It was filmed on location in Yugoslavia back then it was very beautifull country. Nobody did care about God or Allah - both of which only the stupid believe in and kill one another.
