Cool ride along. My Wife , in her early nursing yesrs, worked as a nurse for Russian family doctor and his Wife. Their Christmas parties were pretty Russian traditional from what I gathered. They had tables lined up with empty plates and bottles of whatever booze you brought yourself. These parties seemed to drag in forever. They would bring out a pastry and young Russian girls would plop a pastry on each plate. You would gobble that up quickly hoping for more food but it never cane. Finally which seemed to be an hour later they would bring something else. By this time most of the females st the tables were half drunk and acting silly. Then the DJ finally plays a song and starts doing Carioki (sp) to 80’s songs…..keep in mind this guy looks like Ron Jeremy the porn star and hes singing songs like Don’t you want me from the Human League. Then after about three songs these obviously paid young Russian dancers in very skimpy outfits come up to the dance floor and start dancing . All eyes are on these stunning girls and their intoxicating moves and ine by one people start coming up to dance. This goes on for about 1 hour then they break. Back at the tables people start drinking again. This goes in for what seems like forever. My stomach is dying for some food. You can smell it in the background and finally they bring these meat wraps just as your lady friend explained. They were very tasty. i asked one of the server girls what kind of meat was in them and she looked at me with a cold stare and said “It’s meat.” But it sounded like “It’s mit.” I said “What kind of meat.” She said again “It’s mit.” I said okay….haha. After she left I said “I think I know what kind of meat it is.” Everyone near me wanted to hear my guess and I said “By her reaction I think were eating the last guy that asked her that question.” Exploding laughter erupts….it was great. About another hour goes by and the place has thinned out a bit and theres not many people left but old lonely Russian ladies staring at you with an alcohol induced twinkle in their eye. We left soon afterwards. Had a great ride home though I had zero alcohol so my Wife could have a glass of wine for once plus I wont get in a vehicle even after one drink -not worth it these days. So we had a very similar experience at a Turkish party but for some reason I got a lot of dirty looks from the Turks mainly because my Wife had features that made everyone think she was Turkish. They all tried to speak to her in their native tongue…..it was funny watching their reaction when she said she wasn’t Turkish. Some of those dudes looked at me like they wanted to slice my throat it was creepy. Glad I had my appendix pal with me. I always had the fresh out of the marines look so go figure. The Russians were nicer but they did have goons surround me and questioned me why I was there when I showed up with my wife at the above described story. It was so freaking weird. The turkish party was just freaking creepy in so many ways. Lots of smiles but hate in their eyes. I couldnt wait to GTFO of that party.
