Winona LaDuke, the renowned indigenous rights leader and two-time Green Party U.S. Vice Presidential candidate highlights the struggles of indigenous peoples to protect their food sovereignty, restore their food systems and protect their cultures and foods from genetic modification. This speech was presented at the 2007 Bioneers National Conference in San Rafael, CA.
Since 1990, Bioneers has acted as a fertile hub of social and scientific innovators with practical and visionary solutions for the world's most pressing environmental and social challenges.
To experience talks like this, please join us at the Bioneers National Conference each October, and regional Bioneers Resilient Community Network gatherings held nationwide throughout the year.

...and yet she is talking about much much more than "the struggles of indigenous people" - she talks about us all, she talks about a completely different worldview whose time is coming again!!! She talks sense, wisdom and deep respect for life. More and more people are going to hear it like that. The context is "protecting cultures and foods from GM", the meaning runs way deeper! Thank you Winona.

You can learn more about people by talking to them than by seeing them as a color and claiming that "white" is "superior".

Not interesting, but vital and more than necessary to the survival of not just Wiona's tribe but for all people. More power to her and those who work alongside her. To this day, they are digging all over the world to justify the Indigenous people of North America as not human BEING but a notch beneath the human DNA...
