Doing maintenance to the SB1174 blower and unexpectedly to the John Deere 4066R

I've had the retaining bolts on some of my 440r loader come loose. Used blue Loctite on them and so far so good. The 3point pins some times will loosen up with excessive vibration or under heavy draft.

If they periodically get loose, I'd opt for drilling out the nut through the bolt and putting a cotter pin in there for keeping from totally coming loose. Then easy enough to remove vs putting loctite glue on.

I've considered that and if these loosen up again I will most likely go that route.

Similar thoughts, I was thinking of a castle nut with a cotter pin.

If your three point pins keep loosing up you need a high torque Milwaukee half inch drive impact !! What’s that yellow thing ?? Dewalt ?? Lol ! Hi Remember you get what you pay for ! You know you own a John Deere !!

Hey! how are you liking that snowblower?? i have a 60HP massey ferguson with 45 pto hp and i am looking at the SB1174 frontier or the SB 1274 frontier. Wondering what your overall thoughts are of the frontier and how far it throws the snow, how often do you replace shear pins?

I like the SB1174. Honestly I would have preferred a SB1274 (heavier duty unit as you probably know) but I needed a blower in a pinch and took what I could find. For the price the 1175 has given us good service. It’s picked up some rocks and it’s gone through a lot of shear bolts but I would rate it as a 8.5/10 based on our experiences so far. Shear bolts are going to be a function of snow type, bolt, and driveway. We have tons of rocks and that is the most common reason for shearing a bolt. Good news is they are easy to replace and generally I’m back up and running in less than 2-3 minutes.
