THESE CAMERA ANGLES are the BEST! These angles teach me the most about the skill set. That one-handed rowing WHILE fishing, using the torso and upper arm...brilliant. I'm sure you don't even think about it now but it's helpful to see it to understand it. And MAN!!! That closing shot was worthy of an Emmy bro! Mad-skills all around. Great video Matt.

Matt, This was the best video all winter so far. Simply because it was realtime fishing. It was awesome to see you on the water and catching fish, it was special. The others were great videos but a bit surreal because of the season difference. If I had that place nearby I would fish it all winter long. You said it was a long commute for you to get there. If you did not have the Spook and jig tied on it would not be normal. I get the train of thought, warm water they might be into a top water bite. I am sure if there was bait fish or bugs on the surface they would have been. Thanks for another gem.

I talked to another guy out there in a bass boat who said he got one on top a couple weeks ago so maybe I’m not too crazy! It’s a few hour drive both ways but I like that lake, there’s potential to hook into a 6+ bass out there and this time of year there’s that eerie fog rolling around sometimes that makes it an interesting place to paddle. I’d like to try it this summer and I’m assuming it would be almost the opposite, rather than fish where the warm water flows in there’s another creek with cold water flowing in they’ll probably be around when it gets hot out.

This far north having that heated water helps the bass grow bigger. They don’t eat as much during winter on other lakes where the water is 20 degrees colder and covered in ice 5 months out of the year. I know there’s been some 7-8lbers caught on this lake which are giants around here!

Well I looked through all of the comments and I guess I'll be THAT guy. First of all, thank you for taking us along. So relaxing to accompany you esp at this time. Unpretentious, solid content. Great personality, etc. Here's my one thing: I prefer the POV from before. Your voice and a much better shot of your casts and hits, make for a more enjoyable experience for me. Sometimes it's not necessary to fix what wasn't broke. Great to see you back!

I prefer the hat cam myself as well. It’s easier to edit the footage and the audio comes out cleaner having the lapel mic clipped to my hat. The only problem is running it in cold weather the batteries only last about 20 minutes until I have to swap them. That’s the main reason I like the kayak mounted cameras when it’s cold out, I run them off external power so they’ll run all day in the cold.

@@ndyakangler I appreciate you taking the time to reply. That makes a lot of sense. I can say I'm happy to have SOMETHING from you during the winter, even when it's not perfect (ugh that word). I did enjoy the different angles and imagining the tedious set up, shoot, go back and get the cam and equip (just from the launch alone!). I did like seeing how you manage the oar, rod, net, dehook and present the catch. I'm sure that was a little smoother and seemless. Very cool. Thanks again and stay safe!

Keep that up, I think most of us agree we like to learn more about you and your fishing style. I enjoyed watching you grow into a better fisherman/cameraman. You have a calm, mature personality and I really like that you don't beg for subs every video. You also don't put on some fake over excited and loud persona to act like every fish you catch is a 10 pounder. Lots of companies would be lucky to be sponsoring you because this channel is quality fish and nature. Hell even the bird ambient sounds is top notch and enjoyable. So glad you dont use orange lews rods and reels. I see every kid on youtube using them. Its annoying to see such unnatural colors being used in fishing. Just keep doing what your doing!
