Thank you for the great video! I hope you and the family are doing well. If you want snow, we can send you some from Ontario, Canada. I really appreciate the videos of just the hunt because they're never the same as the last one. So many of the rockhounders that I follow have gone into cutting and lapidary, which is great that they're growing their channels and broadening their skills, but I miss just the traditional hunts. Thank you again for the great video.

Hey Alex, how far do you walk to the river? I have been wanting to ask you that. The longest walking trip to Lake Superior I took was a mile, because the beaver caused the road to flood with their dam. Do you have any other difficulties getting to the water? Keep on rocking.

That’s a good question! I’m making a trip out there in June and I don’t know where to go. I’ve been asking a couple of people trying to get it some feedback on how to get to the gravel bars. Do I just Google Yellowstone river and start walking lol should be interesting and I sure hope I don’t make the trip for nothing.

Looking for rocks is like a box of chocolates, and well, you know the rest! I'm so torn between my love of agates and my love of jasper, so jasp-agates are pretty cool in my book. Aventurine makes some pretty nice jewelry, made a bolo tie with an aventurine cab once. There are so many unnamed rocks there with pretty colors, I would love to know what they are. I keep spotting some lovely pinks. As far as the drought goes, Southern California feels your pain. It would be awesome to know what kind of tree the wood came from. Maybe something that is extinct now? Good to see you and the Kipster again!

Hi, I just started watching this video and already had to back up and check something out!!! At 1:14 there's a "lizard log" . . . it looks scary to me, lol. If I'd been there I would have had to find some way to get it cut and in the car to take home!!! It'd be a cool addition to the pet wood!!! Now excuse me while I continue watching your video!!! Take care!!! 😊 I'm back, I loved this video!!! YES!!! YES!!! YES!!! to the rock saw slabs!!! I love watching those being cut!!! And with me, the more colorful the rock the better. I saw sooo many beautiful rocks as you walked along!!! I'd need a pack horse to get my rocks back to the car, lol. Thank you for taking us along with you today, I had a wonderful time lol. years and years ago my folks had the back patch plowed up so they could plant corn. Before they put down the corn seeds I walked all over the plowed field and found a hand sized cut and polished Montana agate. It was cut flat on the bottom and then the face was polished and the rest had the rime left on. Our home had been part of a large farm and it always puzzled me how this beauty ended up in our field. I carried it with me for years and moves but somehow it is gone. It was so pretty and caused me to become a rock person.

Always enjoy your vids, been watching almost since day 1 of you. Your vids are always welcoming, very mellow and relaxing to watch. Bet Kip loves the openness of the area. Your vids just make me want to roadtrip from SoCal out to your neck of the woods to go hounding. Next week I'm taking a day trip to Afton Canyon and the Cady Mountains, which are both about half an hour drive east of Bakersfield. We just had (a few days ago) a night of torrential rain, peppered w/ pea-sized hail. So I'm hoping a lot was washed away (top-soil) to expose them beautiful agates & jaspers.

You have got the most beautiful rock hounding spot! Yesterday I was hounding the Willamette River here in western Oregon. The river is VERY low for this time of year. My place of birth is Billings, Montana, but never raised there, sometimes I wished I was. I do support you, interested in the Moss Agate my favorite type of Agate. I have a set of his and her rings with the moss agate as their stone. My only problem I lost the stone from the smaller ring. I bought a slab from KatyDid, but haven't got it cut yet.
