Winter Roadtrip to Northern Sweden with Kia e-Soul

Күн бұрынWe hired a Kia e-soul for our 3-months winter trip to Northern Sweden. The total distance is 1050 km, we needed 5 quick charge stops and consumption was below 200 Wh/km despite freezing temperatures down to -15°C.

With the dog as well! Great! Have fun hacking up there, would be too cold and dark for me, I can already feel the winter dragging on me here and it has barely started!

Thanks :) we're loving it, snow doesn't get you wet as opposed to rain and compensates the darkness a bit

1:50 I guess the "50 kW" charger is as usual limited to 125 A. At 350 V DC (for example) you get 43 kW. Minus cabin heater, battery heater, car electronics. If you try a HPC it should be around 60-70 kW, if the battery is warm enought. Corsa-e and Peugeot in comparision have a higher DC voltage in general and get nearly 50 kW on those old DC chargers.

Looks old, but can deliver 150 kW :) Later on I saw 56 kW

4:05 That looks like a typical Kia/Hyundai "cold gate" in Bispingen. 😉 Can you manually preheat the battery with this software version? Battery temp. via OBD would be interesting.

No, it only has some ominous "winter mode" which according to nextmove test does nothing at all ;) It will start heating as soon as you plug in

Huh, never saw that one. I think lowest temperature we experienced was -28°C
