At 4:51 the whistle gave me chills. The sound of the rolling stock passing over the grade crossing sounded like music too! The whistle at 2:56 also sounded lovely.

Wonderful! Modern trains hardly rate a first glance, let alone a second, but steam will always have the magic to pull the crowds - even on a winter day.

Watching the video and listening to all the noises gives me a first hand visual of all the stories my grandma told me about when she was growing up in Scranton during the 1920s and 30s. Her house was a block over from the rail yard. Watching the video made me feel like I was there during that time. Great video!

Love them. I recall as a small child spending some time in the winter in the village of Ramsey, Ontario. My grandfather was the station master. It was something else to see the huge steam engines come roaring through.

This is where part of my story titled, Adoption Not an Option, takes place.I love the sound of a train. It carries a haunting sound of moving into the abyss of space with no time yet time will change your course. I was a little girl, maybe three, when my life changed profoundly as I boarded the stairs and moved far away. I had no idea at the time that the train whistle would be forever etched into my life as a symbol of the family that disappeared from me. This mystical sound will be a huge part of my upcoming film, "Eugenea's Story." I can't wait to see it on screen.

Wow I love the sound of a steam locomotive and it's wonderful whistle - so nostalgic and beautiful. By the time I was old enough to understand this stuff these steam locomotives were long gone but still it stirs in me nostalgia and almost brings me to tears. My god it's got a caboose and that's something you don't see anymore, a caboose.

My grandfather was a station master for CN and was in charge of several stations over time. I recall spending a few days as a child in the winter at Ramsay, Ontario, where he was in charge. I still recall fondly those massive steam engines coming through the town. Great memories.

Steamtown was located in bellows falls vt years ago. My mother use to take me there as a kid in the 60s.

I love the sound of the old steamers they sound so much better than the diesels and the Sea one of these old trains running on its own with its passenger cars just is really amazing wish you were I live in Ohio we had such a train you and Canada are so lucky I would love to see this train.
