The journey begins at Ichigo House in Mitaka, where Shizuka hand-picks fresh and juicy strawberries straight from the vine and taste the king of Japanese desserts: Ichigo daifuku!
Then, Shizuka takes you to Soratsuki at Tsukiji Market, where she indulges in the best ichigo-daifuku the market has to offer. The ichigo-daifuku there is the perfect combination of soft, chewy mochi and a luscious strawberries.

When i was in Japan last year, I splurged on a pkg of strawberries. I had heard from others that it is nothing like what we have in Canada. The price for 6 strawberries seemed steep but was worth every ¥. It was not like anything i had ever had. I think about those strawberries often. I look forward to returning to Japan and experiencing that again 🥰

One of our market chains offers the white strawberry's but they are passed by consumers due to the color. I have tried them and found them to be sweeter than the reds. Try another world, you may really like it.

fruits in Japan... fresh. gigantic size... and tasty.. BUT so expensive... they definitely know how to prep, grow and market their fruits industry.. strawberries, watermelon, apples

Some 23 years ago, among my "gang" of weekend merry-makers in Melbourne, I was the preferred strawberry picker when we were in the farm. My picks were always sweet. I had to pick so many then (5kg per couple), I seldom eat strawberries these days. Trauma. Lol.

We tried white strawberries from Tsukiji Market and they didn't taste good at all 😢 it was probably because it was November and it wasn't the best season to try them. Will definitely go to this strawberry picking farm next time ❤️🍓
