They’ve got farm stuff, tires, sturdy clothes, food, sporting goods, outdoor supplies, lawn and garden, lots of work shoes, tools, hardware, automotive (and larger vehicle), kitchen stuff, furniture, seasonal items, pet supplies, toys, including a greater variety of farm themed toys than you’ll find anywhere else, etc. When the city newspapers want to get opinions from rural folks, they go to Farm & Fleet (the smaller of the two chains, with less furniture and a stronger tire smell).

BEST snow shovel = metal shovel with a wooden handle. NO plastic. It will last for years. Also I have that extendable snow scraper and I think when I first picked it up I also experienced the beam of light from Heaven and an angel chorus. Being a 5'0" tall woman I love that thing!

Metal shovels kinda suck when the snow starts sticking to the metal and they get heavier and heavier till you beat it on the ground to get the excess snow off. I got one and I agree with the other comment on fiberglass.

I'm that guy!!!... Have a high end snowblower, and do multiple people driveways.... Even do the organ factory across the street cause I'd hate to see anyone who uses their hands for a living throw their back out shoving. Honestly, it's nice to be out in cold air, podcasts going, blowin snow..... Plus the neighbors are always looking out for my place/family.

I love small town living in the midwest. After a big snowstorm a few years ago, I was out shoveling out my driveway and was just about done when a city snowplow drove past, depositing nearly two feet of snow across the end of my driveway. When he got to the end of the street and turned around to plow in the other direction, the driver swung across the end of my driveway to clear the snow that he had deposited earlier. I'm a strong advocate for not using shovels with a metal tip. They end up bending over time if it's icy. Either full metal or full plastic. Both work great. And basic scoop-lift combo types are fine. Don't use a grain scoop to clear out after a good storm though. Also: 2:1 Sand:Salt mix in a bucket will save you from going ass over teakettle.

You need sand for thick ice and for days when the temps get too cold to melt ice. Change your shoes when you get inside because sand, salt, and shoe slush will beat the Hell out of your floors. Fireplace ashes work in a pinch for snow traction. Also not fun to track inside.

Gotta admit with my bad back moving to a rental that has all snow removal cared for was important for me. Of course my kids are older now and I could kick any of them in the rear to go get the snow out of the way. However, moving is a giant pain in my rear so staying put and knowing I'm paying extra for stuff like snow removal and 24/7 maintenance is worth it to me.

Don't forget the car snow shovel, I think it's in the isle with the brooms, which is a necessity to sweep off the car and then the snow from your pants and shoes, sometimes you can get them in one pack, some people call them dust pans, don't get a metal one tho, just the plastic with the squeegee

that was me up north. shoveling the walk then our driveway then the neighbors too then the street parking in front of my apartments. seriously. no, it's not about being nice, just bored to tears when everything is closed down during a snow storm.

Yes! Plastic blades go to heck after their first encounter with thick ice crust.

I live on a small side street and most of the time the city doesn't shove my it, for a couple of years my sister and I shoveled the whole street. My neighbors did not say thank you, so now we just shovel our end. 🤷
