Canadian National trains against the backdrop of the Canadian Rockies at the east entrance to Jasper National Park. This eastern approach to Yellowhead Pass is covered between Hinton and Brule Lake as a mighty Chinook wind blows over the frozen Athabaska River. This is main line railroading in Canada in the dead of winter!
This segment was taken from "Canada's Yellowhead Pass" which is also available on DVD, Blu-ray, and Digital Download by visiting 7ideaproductions.com.

Beautiful video, the long shots of the trains snaking their way through the wilderness is awesome. The natural scenery is magnificent. Like a few other comments, I'm surprised that the CN can move such long trains with either a single engine or at most a single helper. I live next to the CSX main in VA and most freights need at least two engines plus a DPU helper at mid-train. And this is mostly flat roadbed.

I lived in the town of Hinton and recognize everything on this video. I lived in an apartment complex that was located beneath train tracks for a few years.

What a VIDEO! 18:09 you get a real view of how long this sucker is by seeing the cars waaaaaaaaaay back through the tree's. Half asleep sipping my coffee and could help myself from saying "wow what a scene!" Thanks for sharing.

Wonderful video, but I'm amazed they're moving that tonnage with a single head-end unit and one DP.

What mic do you use? Great low end, doesn't drown everything in bass and picks up on the details instead.

Wow really need to one of your dvds. This is spectacular. Have you guys ever tried to make a DVD on CSX's Henderson Subdivision between Nashville, TN and Evansville, IN its a important part of CSX's Chicago to New Orleans mainline.

Great narration I really enjoyed that part, also no fancy picture in picture and fancy fades. I swear some guys are trying to be George Lucas when they make their videos. Simple to the point quality footage!

Nice, but why are the iron/steel bridges left unpainted? The rust streaks give them a rather unsafe look!
@ghostrider-be9ek
@ghostrider-be9ek 2 жыл бұрын
im going to guess left unpainted, because of the lack of salt in the area - iron forms an iron oxide coating anyway, which stays on as a protective barrier- also defects area easier to spot on unpainted surfaces.
