The weather looks to be as persistently filthy there as it is here. Shipping forecasts are still broadcast on Radio 4, four times a day. But Finisterre was renamed Fitzroy by the Met Office some years ago. How can dinner in a Chinese restaurant add 1kg to your weight - I really don't know. Did you stuff your pockets with fortune cookies? 😁 On the leather working front, what about goatskin - do you work with that? Btw, were you experimenting with 4:3 aspect ratio or was it a mis-setting?

It sounds like the BBC have had a spat with the French at some point renaming Finisterre. We can get Radio 4 here but only on Long Wave which I don't have on any of my radios. No idea about the aspect ratio. I uploaded it and that's how KZfaq decided to render it 😡 I haven't worked with goatskin, yet. I might try it for some "hair on" projects. We'll see.

I have no idea how you put on a 1 kg after a Chinese meal ..: lots of noodles I guess?? Only a few weeks until the big day now , are you up to much for Christmas? I am contemplating a little tour in the spring maybe from Calais across to Brittany taking my time most likely b&b incorporating cidre and galettes and more gastro delights, maybe some lefe,hopefully some less overpopulated roads and a chance to brush up a bit on my french before a tour down through France to Germany , anyway thanks again for the video , if you don’t get around to doing another this side of Christmas , have a great festive 👍

I think it was the starters and the dessert that did me in! I've two more videos planned before Christmas and one early-ish in the New Year. After that I plan to be servicing the bikes and replacing the rear shock on the Deauville and, possibly, the radiator hoses. So I'll be videoing some of that. Remember that Normandy and Brittany have the same weather as the South coast of England. I usually leave my longer trips in that direction or any direction for that matter, until end of April or May

@riderramblings I'll look forward to the spannering videos ,I think I may have changed a rear shock in a deauville (think) ages ago! I didnthe pan one, which wasn't too bad on my last pan. I am thinking of some point in May for the little getaway. Thanks for the advice .. I went to plouay for the French 2cv national last year, and it was ok mainly, we missed the heavy rain but camped on soggy ground at the beginning May. This year, it's a bit further down closer to mulhouse .. I am still contemplating it in my 67 van, but in that, it's not a journey to be rushed. It's the getting there that is equally if not more fun for me. I may choose to do a smaller bike tour instead at the beginning of may next year (the 2cv French national is normally at the beginning may). I think it's in line with the French kind of bank holiday weekend weekend. Is it called ascention weekend ?

@@geoffsmith1616 I had a quick look at the procedure for replacing the shock on the Deauville and, it looks relatively easy (famous last words) unless the bolts are seized. I've decided on a Hagon as it can be serviced unlike the Honda one. My next door neighbour in the garage, but two floors above me in the apartment block, has a 1954 2CV. He takes it out for the occasional run during the better weather. He also takes her to some shows, but mostly local. Yes, there are a lot of holidays in France in May and 9th May is the Ascension Public holiday. Note, 8th of May is also a Public holiday in France so that week will be a tad busy in Normandy and Brittany.
