I would just remove the decals and leave it white. Less work and white will keep the van cooler in the summer sun. A darker color will absorb heat.

You should watch other videos of people painting their cars because you need to sand your whole van in order to get a better paint job and to make sure the paint doesn’t peel off.

The van already looks 100% better with the decals off! What a productive day! I also think it's a great idea to do short overnight or weekend trips while you're doing the install and finishing. That might even give you ideas for the build that you haven't even thought about. Plus, we'll get some interim van life excursion content for our viewing pleasure. Win-Win! 🎉

You need to build yourself an enclosed tent area when your ready to paint. You need a dust free area, otherwise your going to have dust, dirt, bugs and god knows what else sticking to your paint. Then you also need to worry about if it's going to rain or not. I would hate for you to do all that work for it to get ruined. Best of luck on your project, can't wait to see the end result ! I personally think it's a great idea to travel during the build out. Figuring out where you want to install everything, before it's permanent is smart. Safe travels to you and Lars🤗🥰

I just wanted to say thank you for using real ceramic dishes and mugs! So many people are afraid to have real ceramic dishes in a van, but you totally can and it makes a much nicer presentation and dining experience. I am a ceramics maker and artist and while I don’t travel full time or live in a van, I do travel cross-country several times a year and I take a lot of ceramics with me and use them on the way. Also, I just adore Lars! He’s so cute! I have two black cats and I call them the Trouble Twins because they’re both a little bit naughty, but their real names are Jellybean (5 year old male) and Nori (4year old female). I love that you have your little van kitty. He seems to really like it and he seems to love the new van, especially the bulkhead shelf! I hope you can keep that open for him to enjoy.

Hi Mateo you should wear a dust mask when sanding paint, and a paint respirator when painting your car. You can get sick from breathing that in.

Good job, remember to always wear a mask when sanding and painting. I think that’s a great idea to take small trips so Mars gets use to the van and you can truly get a feel of where you want everything. Also drawing it on paper then tapping it off before you start building. Also very, very important measure 2, 3 even 4 times if you have to so you only have to cut (1) once. Especially since you have to now cut holes in the van using templates is going to be your best friend.

That's exactly how I do/did...I need to be in the van with my pup to see and feel what's needed and what needs to go where...I'm currently on my 3rd arrangement in my van. Went for the mood I want, the activities I want to do the most and driving/camping helps me see what needs securing, what is not set for mobile dwelling et all. So happy you have a Ford now, I do too and 1999 e150, Osage Edition which came with a automated sofabed/two way sofa, that I was determined to keep. So I've been building around...interested in what you come up with as far as layout and design. Keep going, Bro!!
