I drain the block by removing the blue plugs. Allow it to drain fully. I allow it to drain almost 30+ mins. ( While it is draining work on another project) Then I add the antifreeze when I see see barely a drip from the drain holes. I have not had a problem doing it this way. Winters average 20-25 degrees in my area.

@@mradventure410 fantastic I just finished. I did not realize that the thermostat housing is a duel lumen housing that bypasses the thermostat to the water pump on the largest tube. Just have to finish pumping antifreeze into the water heater and I’m ready to pull the batteries. You were right on with the block fill it took almost exactly 3.5 gallons

@@bodyshotjake7475 The side with the water heater will take about another 2 gallons. Or you can hook up a loop hose and blow it with an air compressor. I just use the extra 2 gallons for the water heater hoses.

@@mradventure410 mine is electric and is not hooked up to the motor. Not sure if the previous owner just didn’t want to or what because the thermostat housing (2000 7.4 MPI) has the plug where the hose would run to the heater. I bought this boat and it was a basket case. New coupler, rebuilt the bravo 3, rebuilt the transom housing with new gimbal ring and all. Motor only has 390 hours but it needs an injector or 2 (I’ll likely replace them all) due to the infamous 454 leak down getting air in the fuel rail. I really appreciate your video man in helped a lot. What your saying about the heater is I can loop the 2 sides together and just fill it by turning the fresh water pump on? I just took a tube and ran it into the engine compartment and let it pump until it came out pink on both sides.

@@bodyshotjake7475 the loop I am talking about would be on the motor only. If hot water tank is connected to the motor too. Duel heating. Motor and electric. I used to pour antifreeze into the holding tank approx10-12 gals. on my other boat and run it through the hot water tank and faucets. Now I use an air compressor and blow the water out of the hotwater tank and faucets. Leaves no smell in the spring from antifreeze residue. You will have to open faucets several times each to make sure lines are clear with the air compressor. Dont forget the toilet.
