You can try explaining to metal league players the reason that if you buff Protoss to perform equally in Katowice, then 99% of GM would be Protoss, GM's would stop playing so there would be no-one interested in Katowice. Metal league players just don't get it lol.

@@Wwillswords The game has been very well balanced every month for the past year or so, and the most recent month Protoss is slightly ahead in both PvZ & PvT. It looks like you don't know where the official monthly Balance Report is? What has "money made" got to do with anything? Why would you ask "by what criteria?" There has only ever been one criteria - monthly win-rates of ALL tournaments. If the MU margins remain outside 50% for many months then Blizzard patches accordingly. So Protoss won't be getting buffed anytime soon lol. If you read my earlier post it answers your last question, inferring where Protoss must be dominating, which shows in the results on the wiki pages. It explains why you can't do anything about it.

@hivetech4903 Money made matters because professional star craft is a profession, which means that this is people's livelihoods. If someone like serral who has made over 1 million usd is competeing with someone who needs a second job because they don't make enough to do starcraft full time then serral will always have a snowballing advantage of time to practice and experience meaning the other person needs to perform significantly better than normal to get the same results. By criteria matters because there are weekly tournaments for each league, meaning low-level metal league wins that are more based on not making a massive blunder which skew balance results. The higher the grade, the better the results show balance and not just, oh yeah, that person was supply blocked for 5 minutes of a 7 minute game. If we include bronze games in balance concerns where someone is floating more minerals than they have spent all game, then that isn't an analysis of balance, but of mmr which will always balance out eventually. Blizzard isn't responsible for balance anymore, and patches tend to be released about a year apart by the balance councils. There are also ways to buff protoss without making them dominant everywhere else. For example, giving them more vision options is a buff that wouldn't really help low-level players but would help people like astrea and maxpax. Giving them a door would be a universal buff that might require a nerf to go along with it. And I don't mean a sentry force field. And yeah, I don't think we should make protoss op, but maybe not quite so brittle would be nice.

Blink stalkers are one of the few protoss units that can keep up with cracklings, speedwise, and can (sort of) kite as long as there's a critical mass. Those, along with oracle stasis traps, are not meant to counter the lings, they're meant to buy time for stronger units (robo or storm templar) to hit the field A better question is why wasn't he making colossi instead of immortals. Yeah, he knows the ultras are coming, but blink stalkers do great against ultras if there's enough of them, however, the mass cracklings are going to prove a serious problem for both the immortals and the stalkers. I would chalk it up to nerves/panic - literally no one but DRG does mass lings these days.
