One of the best metal songs! 🤘🏼 Wintersun is from Helsinki, Finland. Jari Mäenpää (guitarist leadsinger) is mastermind behind the band. Wintersun started as his soloproject while he was still playing in Ensiferum (also great finnish metal band 😊). He writes all the music, but drums, which are written by human metronome Kai Hahto (drummer of Nightwish). Other wizards are Teemu Mäntysaari (guitar backing vocals) and Jukka Koskinen (bass backing vocals). There is still two songs from same rehearsals Sons of Winter and Stars and Land of Snow and Sorrow from Time 1 album. Forest Seasons album is great also. Awaken From the Dark Slumber (spring), Forest That Weeps (summer), Eternal Darkness (autumn) and Loneliness (winter) all official lyric videos. First album Wintersun has really great songs like Death and Healing, Starchild, Sadness and Hate, Winter Madness, etc.

You should recognise the drummer, Kai Hahto, as he is also now also the drummer with Nightwish and additionally (as if two huge bands weren't enough work) Darkwoods My Betrothed. He is notable for his open-handed technique with the high-hat on his right, instead of the more traditional left, but still played with his right hand, which avoids crossing arms/hands/sticks. Apparently, it is more efficient and allows faster playing, once you have it drilled into muscle-memory. I think he is probably the best technical drummers of his generation.
