Some people seem to live three lives in one lifetime and are true blessings to those who cross their paths. To you, Sir Nicolas Winton, I deeply bow my head.

Singing in this choir is still, and probably will always be, the greatest privilege I will ever have in my life. There has never been a braver hero than Nicholas Winton. I feel so incredibly privileged to have, as a child, contributed something small to this great man’s memorial service. Nick was so incredibly grateful, he gave every single chorister a hand-written letter thanking us personally.

I have only just recently discovered my paternal grandmother was an OTC... I only just met my biological father less than a month ago... She was adopted into a Catholic family in Tennessee. Sadly while she was raised in a loving family I don't think she ever was able to connect or get past the traumas that she endured as she was almost 11 when she came. Sadly her four children suffered the consequences of that trauma and in turn their children have suffered the consequences. I knew I was born in Memphis and that his family had come from there but I had no idea I was going to find an Ashkenazi Jewish connection... My adult children are being transformed with this knowledge and finding a deeper connection to God through exploring practicing Judaism. I am beyond blessed and grateful for their sacrifice... My prayer is to one day be able to speak their name again so that they will never be forgotten.

Thank you so very much for sharing this memorial service with us. I remember years ago, watching the British program, when Sir Nicholas was surprised to find the children, then adults , seated round about him in the studio audience, thanking him. How moving… now this video helps to fill in all the things I never knew about Sir Nicholas, like the fact that he liked opera. As an operatic tenor that really makes me feel even more proud about my chosen profession. Thank you again for sharing the wonderful, important life of this incredibly gracious individual. I also look forward to the film dramatization of his life.

I hope & pray that Nicholas Winton is studied in history books around the world, starting with the gathering of the “children” in their 70s & 80s at the auditorium where they surprised Nicholas Winton. If you have a grandparent or great grandparent who came from Great Britain they might be one of the children rescued by Nicholas Winton.

A good man. One of the few for whom it can be said; he exemplifies Burke's maxim. In his letter to Thomas Mercer, Edmond Burke says, “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing. When bad men combine, the good must too; else they will fall, one by one, an unpitied sacrifice in a contemptible struggle.” Thank you sir. Thank you.

A wonderfull man, a true Christian working alone when so many Nations turned their backs on the plight of the Jewish nation. Shame on America who had the space and the money, and did nothing.Refusing to help. They only entered the War in Europe ,because Japan bombed Pearl Harbour.!! Denise Kilner.

Two brief points in relation to this incredible human being's story: a) As a son of Holocaust survivors, I've researched this subject a lot, and one thing I discovered was that many of the righteous men and women who saved Jews in the Holocaust ended up living to an extraordinarily ripe old age. b) What made him so unique, is that whereas most rescuers were approached by the people in danger, and simply could not ignore their desperate pleas, Winton initiated all this, and only after he got it rolling, did people start mobbing him.

He has been a discreet and essential man for humanity. He has been a discreet and essential man for humanity. Twelve I don't like are from twelve sons of supremacists who haven't learned anything ... From Andalusia may he rest forever in peace. From Andalusia may he rest forever in peace.

I saw a small clip on Instagram and it interested me so I looked him up on KZfaq and here I am , I'm surprised I haven't came across his story before . What a beautiful human .. and such a lovely story .. Has this story inspired a movie ? If not what a great idea , so many WW2 stories and movie inspirations are about bad people and the things they've done .

Priti patel would have prosecuted such a great man, under her nasty asylum laws, which would prosecute anyone who assisted those they knew to be refugees, sir nick knew he forged papers and moved heaven and earth to do this. Patel would do well to aqaint herself with his legacy.

Matthew 6 - Giving to the Needy 1“Be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven. 2“So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. 3But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, 4so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.
