In this episode of Wisconsin Foodie we explore the western part of Wisconsin, celebrating burgers and beer. First we visit the legendary Pete’s Hamburger stand in Prairie du Chien. Pete’s has been making their unique style of burgers for over 100 years and is known to be one of the first hamburgers to come from Wisconsin. Then, we travel to Potosi and visit Potosi Brewing and the National Brewery Museum. Potosi Foundation President David Fritz gives us a tour through the history of the Potosi brewing from old to new and talks about how the brewery is reviving the community.

taste of my childhood right there. spent a lot of summers in Bagley Wi. it was a weekly treat to head into Prarie for some pete's.

i live 15 miles from potosi,i remember seeing it all ruined in the late 70s,did a great job restoring the brewery

@@garretwitterholt5842 A Vidalia onion (vaɪˈdeɪliə) is one of several varieties of sweet onion grown in a production area defined by law of the U.S. state of Georgia since 1986 and the United States Code of Federal Regulations (CFR). Varieties include the hybrid Yellow Granex, varieties of Granex parentage, and similar varieties as recommended by the Vidalia Onion Committee and approved by the U.S. Secretary of Agriculture. The onions are named Vidalia because they were historically grown in the town of Vidalia, Georgia. The cultivation of Vidalia onions started in the early 1930s. The Granex and related varieties are sweeter than other onions, but the unusual sweetness of Vidalia onions is due to the low amount of sulfur in the soil in which Vidalia onions are grown.
