The Admiral helped me a lot. I stumbled on a speech he gave based on the "make your bed in the morning" idea. I was suffering the worst depression I ever went through, and my life was falling apart and I heard that and it was as if something clicked. Don't focus on the giant hole you've dug yourself into, or try to make everything right - just accomplish something every day. It took a while, but I backfilled that hole and got things right again, one made bed at a time.

Also, I think it is important to keep an open mind to suggestions by the team members. As the Admiral mentioned, "it is not about being the smartest in the room" . if you are a confident leader - and have faith and trust in those around you - there JUST MAY come a time when someone else thinks of something that had not been previously discussed. Even the smallest detail may result in the difference between success and failure !
