oh man, when you dropped mullein I got so excited. my number one local plant ally (among horsenettle, blackberry, field garlic, and thistle...). for any foragers out there, I cannot recommend enough starting a personal map of your immediate area with notations to keep track of the local network of special herbs/plants and ensure you don't over-forage any given area. can be a very interesting way to interact with the genius loci as well. loved the herb talk, stay radical. :)

Omg heck yes! As soon as I have a house and space to really get I to herbalism and wild crafting my studio space is going to prominently feature a topographical map of the area I live with notes and samples of herbs pinned to it. 🥰 functional and aesthetically pleasing lol

I never knew Scott Cuningham had a magical herb book. He wrote the famous Guide for the Solitary Practioner and it is Wicca based. Which book did you start reading in high school when you first got into Wicca? Lavender is my all time favorite herb. It is also actual aroma therapy - it scientifically calms you down. I assosciate rose mary with chicken and greek cooking. How did you make the lavender lemonade?

Yep!! I started off with Silver Raven Wolf’s “Teen Witch” hahaha so you can see how far I’ve come with my practice over the past decade 😂😂😂 I LOVE lavender lemonade! I made some last week actually lol

Have you tried Llewellyn's Complete Book of Correspondences? :) My favorite herbs are Mugwort, Lavender, Rosemary, and Anise. I've recently been trying to get Vervain and Yarrow, but I haven't found them in any local stores. I've never heard of Angelica; I'll look into it. Also, since you mentioned white sage, would you ever make a video on "closed practices?" I've heard a lot of debate in the witch community about palo santo.

Just my opinion, but herbs have been made for people to use. I don't think anyone has the right to claim the exclusive use of any herb. For what it's worth, I've always purchased my white sage and sweetgrass from Natives at powwows. Neither the sellers nor the members of my family who are registered tribal members have any problem with other people using white sage, although many people claim that burying it is a "closed practice". Of all of the people I've heard making that claim online, not one of them has identified themselves as a Native. I think there are way too many self-appointed gatekeepers. My final thought is that burning herbs and carrots kinds of woods for protection, or for offerings, or for other witchy or religious purposes has been going on across the world for millennia.

@@greeneyedlady5580 Thank-you for your insight!! ❤ There is definitely a lot of gatekeeping, and since I'm new to the craft, sometimes I don't know if I should or shouldn't be doing something (because there's A LOT of perspectives). 😆🌸

Hi there! I do have a video on closed practices from last year! I personally have been asked by my Native Americans not to use White Sage, Sweetgrass, or Palo Santo and there are so many alternatives to it that I feel it’s the best thing for me to do. These plants are also endangered, so I choose not to use them for that reason as well! I found that decolonizing my practice in this way was actually really helpful, and helped me connect with my ancestral practices as well!

I disagree, as I have been asked by multiple Native Americans not to use certain sacred herbs! White Sage and Palo Santo are both very endangered, and with other options so readily available, I feel that it is easy enough to not use the plants in my practice that I choose not to 🤷🏻♀️
