I always thought this was the best ending. The current perceived "best ending" is ridiculous to me. A Witcher, though we love them, is just a super-powered grunt. A massive support system but never a hero or leader of men and whatever else. Ciri is. She's part of something far greater than a Witcher's destiny. Her becoming a monster hunting bad ass is so far beneath her potential that it's ridiculous that most consider that the best ending. The worst ending is ending up with Emyr. Completely controlled and left with a life following an asshole hell-bent on world domination. The second worst is becoming a Witcher. She'll have free will for the most part and would absolutely become the greatest Witcher who ever witcher'd. Yet that would be a tragedy. Never realizing her true purpose and full power (controlled of course) would be almost as sad as ending up with Emyr. Whatever that swallow is flying to is what she's supposed to do. And I sure hope we find out where she goes and what it means for Geralt and the rest of the Witcher universe.

Except you're forcing your opinion that Ciris true purpose in life is to be a great "something". A savior, or even greater. She's your daughter. Her greatest purpose is being happy. Even worse, whatever happened in the final battle, could have gone worse, injury to her body or magic. We just don't know anything. It took years to find out ANYTHING. To say she's truly free in this ending doesn't make sense. It's too little to call. The swallow has always represented freedom for her, I acknowledge that comparison to the mural is valid. But she's always been the swallow, it's not lacking in the Witcher ending. The only ending she CAN live up to her full potential, is the Witcher ending. Edit: I just spent like 10 minutes doing this, and then re-read your message. What do you mean you "always thought" if your argument is based on facts that haven't been know for a full year or two now.

Oh yeah I remember that after 100% the game there was always that one "uncompleted" quest hanging in the questlist.

Sometimes the one with a cart on the riverbank of Toussaint (near a bandit camp of wine wars) doesn't complete either, I always make a save before that just in case

I did that quest on my NG+ last night or perhaps the night before and it completed for me. I'm on Xbox series X, and it was NG+, so maybe that is why? Or perhaps the bug sets in from a previous encounter or some other requirement that I didn't meet.

I got the bad ending on my first playthrough and literally stopped the game when I realised, loaded an old save and replayed the last 3 hours to get a good ending. No way was my first time ending that way XD

Reinald became a Witcher pretty accurately 300 years prior to this point. Add a couple of years as a infant/young child and he is just shy over 300. Considering that Geralt is in his late 50s at this point and Lambert is younger...the gap between them is over 250 years. Heck, Reinald was there long before Vesimirs was born

That quest is trash! They were trying to tie in a Witcher Netflix backstory into the Witcher 3 with Geralt questioning Reinald about his medalion, which for me is a big thumbs down. A Pox on the Witcher Netflix and their writers.

@@Snow19867 Of course it is making fun of the Netflix writers. Yet by beeing the opposite of trash. It's a very well made quest. They couldn't just change his medillian to the W3 one and they also couldn't just include a new one without any explanation. A simple throw away line explaining that Witchers in the early days crafted their own medaillons themself suffices. And of course the book medallion was a round and flat as well and even though the engravings look cheap, it's actually the more lore accurete one. If you just wrote that respond to trash on the show, then I am sure Netflix is thankful for you for keeping them in business

@@soapTHEgamer1 That's not what I had in mind. Vilgefortz's teleport was placed on the Sedna abyss and not in Skellige. Also the events happened even when Calenthe died during the siege of Cintra, which is obviously not related to the teleport either.

Another argument would be that witchers are so aware of their surroundings, they can easily hear if someone is charging up behind them. So I set the combat camera to far, because then I can be aware of the whole battlefield, just like Geralt would be. You are assuming he has limitations that a non mutated human would. So the close combat camera makes you less of a Witcher, more of a human.

Yeah this action camera new games have is dogshit. Same with god of war.

I was also going to set the combat camera to far, but I noticed there's a PC mod available that will automatically change the camera based on how many enemies you are fighting. I have it set to close camera only if I'm fighting 1 enemy. That way boss battles will be very epic and close up, but if I'm fighting 2 or more I get the far camera so I can watch Geralt's back :)

@xLetalis I've also just finished the main game today, with the Ciri witcher "good" ending. When she steps into the door at the tower to end the White Frost, before the flashback of your in-game choices play, there's a quick camera angle that shows Vesemir's withcher medallion hanging from her waist, suggesting she tracked down and killed the 3rd Crone and retrieved it before the "ending", or a dev oversight? Using the alternate Ciri costume in the options. I'm not entirely sure what the accepted thoughts are on the final Crone, or if this was in the original version. Happy New Year! @@xLetalis Yes, but you can hear a noticable difference between the lines in the quest and his older ones. It works ok in an isolated quest but if they were to be mixed with his older dialouge it would've been quite jarring.

That can be easily fixed now using machine learning voice transfer.

I think those aren't new, but rather specific lines which are now used in general. "I'll hang your head..." is from the fight with the Garkain in B&W, but now Geralt says it to many others. Same with "Wonder what this means..." was from the cheese tower quest, but is now used more broadly

Her becoming a Witcher is the short sighted ending, because as empress she can save her friends on skellige from being conquered by nilfgaard, as well as stop the madness Radovid started in the north. She has teleport powers she can dabble in her Witcher hobby whenever she gets bored.

Nah man. Ciri and Geralt are integral to eachothers stories. I hope we don’t get “Witcher 4” I want “the first witchers” or something like that. Making a character belonging to our school of choice, fighting monsters across the continent soon after the conjunction so monsters are still everywhere and not much is known. That way when we find new monsters and learn stuff we aren’t just reading the monster books, we’re writing the info down for future witchers

Given that Geralt does not say "I'll be sure to tell him the next time I see him" if Lambert is dead, I think it's natural for me to think that there would be something to tell him :)

@@xLetalis I personally understood it as him mocking the spirit, as he should know from the letters that his friend was another person by the letter "O". If Lambert is dead, its too dark for Geralt to joke about it after getting his answers. But who knows, you go into this stuff very, very deepIy, it makes me doubt my own theory.
