With People Returning To Salons, Hair Donations For Wigs Skyrocket

When wig factories shut down during the pandemic, donations to Hair We Share sat in boxes. But now, as people head back to get their first haircut in more than a year, donations nationwide are up more than 135%. NBC’s Kristen Dahlgren reports for Weekend TODAY.

It was very exciting to be on this program, but after learning more about #hairweshare and what they have accomplished I was very glad to be able to donate.

I sure wish that a company would donate me a wig. Since may wheni came out o hospital after 37 days of covid my hair has fallen out so bad after coded 3xs n icu 6 days on a ventilatir it caused my hair to fallout bad.i hope someone sees this n offer me a wig n the things to go with it also some shampoo products to make my hair grow back again

I have alopecia and the wigs don't last long. I would love a red wig.

And then 85% gets Thrown away ( by locks of love )...research who you are donating to!!!! This sounds like the start of a good company.

Hair We Share does not sell your hair and if it is packaged to us correctly according to our website, it is never thrown away.

I would like to think people seeing this wouldn't be so vain and cut their hair off for the cause. To see someone get the biggest smile and confidence back is worth more thay a few locks of hair.
