It's better in Port St Lucie than most fast growing areas of the USA. The city has come a long way since the 1990s.

Port St Lucie is simply a gigantic housing development which was terribly planned, yet has a population of 250,000. There are barely any roads to handle the crush of traffic. One crash will bring gridlock. There are barely any bike lanes, and multiuse trails are nonexistent. There is no downtown area at all! There is no culture. The cost of living is sky high.

Move to the other Port towns. Port St John or port St Joe.

Those trails they mention are simply bumpy concrete sidewalks which are ill suited for bicyclists.
