Sharon den Adel is the lead singer. Tarja has joined them several times for live performances of this, including master of Rock 2019. From the 5th album, Hydra in 2014. The song is based on a speech by retired Dutch General Peter van Uhm.

I love these two ladies very much. It's probably WT's most popular song and it's doubly nice that it's a collaboration between Sharon and Tarja. There is a lot intertwined in European symphonic metal and many musicians are friends.

Lead singer is Sharon den Adel! They are awesome! Great pick! I don’t want to pull you out of order of you list on Nightwish but If you want to jam check out I Wish I had an Angel from Wacken 2013

Hey Debbie, the song is about world leaders not caring about the consequences of their actions. The newspaper headline in the beginning of the video says "Diplomacy Failed" with a photo of a nuclear bomb blast.

Within Temptation is a great band for jammin’! For me, Nightwish/Epica/Within Temptation have been my favorite trifecta of symphonic metal for the last 20 years. A couple WT recommendations I have for now are, “Covered by Roses,” and “Titanium (David Guetta cover). Enjoy!

Like you, I didn't come from a Metal background but due to a song by Within Temptation (Faster) which was used as a sound track for a motorcycle racing video, I discovered Symphonic Metal, then Progressive and Power Metal, etc! Nowadays I don't listen to much besides Metal and to borrow a phrase from another reactor, I feel like I've been 'spoiled by metal!!' WT are a great band!! Cheers!

Saw Within temptation at Sweden rock and that was an fenomenal performance of them. Tarja was not on stage, just showing in the videos on screen. Its a four day festival and to get to see Nightwish one they and WT another they was the highlight of that festival 😍 so amazingly good live both of them
