Eyewitness Melissa Shaffert recalled hearing what sounded like fireworks at former President Donald Trump's rally Saturday before she said chaos ensued. Shaffert tells CBS News' Margaret Brennan about what she saw.

Not to mention the way they held it up afterwards to try getting a 2nd so Secret Service technically failed him right there instead of holding them all the way down and putting their life's in front of him and didn't do was hold them up for they could take out supposedly another shot at him, but like COVID-45 says himself FAKE NEWS 😂😂 It looked stage just take away the attention from Project 2025, and afterwards when COVID-45 was rising his first that would have been another opportunity, but yes I agree it was fireworks...🎇

Yeah saw that as well. I think those were local cops he was trying to warn, but not sure. If they were local cops, chances of a conspiracy is low, they just suck that bad. The town has had some history with drug infestation for a while now. The cops there are notorious for not doing their part to stop it. Not a lot going there, economically depressed for quite some time now.

Even from the video, it sounds like a .22, something small caliber. No way someone got a rifle close to there. You can even see that noone was running either, they all just looked on. And can I also point out that, I could be missing something, but that took way too long to remove him from the area, especially since he actually got hit and multiple shots got off......tell me I'm wrong!

I agree.. and it doesn't sound right. You would think that there would've been more fatalities with a RIFLE and shooting from the top of a building... It sounded like bb gun bullets. There is NO DAMN way that he would be fist pumping after being shot in the ear, like he said. The Drs and secret service are not claiming that. It seems to be off.

She says she didnt hear the Secre Srvice shots but in the Live I watched you can hear about 10ish gunshots. after the initial shots the other diffrent sounds are deffs law enforcement and it sounded like 2-3 different rounds. Definetly a large rife, a pistol and prolly a silencd rifle.

As a long time former Democrat this is wrong as it gets. Let us look at facts. My former party asked last month to remove the security detail from Trump. President Biden said "time to put Trump in the cross hairs" Then this happens. I actually wasn't going to vote for Trump this November. But this just pushed me a bit farther. Today I'm no longer Libertarian I guess I'm now a Republican. Never thought I'd say that.

Good witness. Its interesting how precise teh wound was for a bullet from a rifle. Rifle bullets especially from a distance dont go in a straight laser-esque line, they spin. So, you would expect the rifling to have made the area of spin of the actual slug to wide to have had such a precise range on the target ... like there should be some buzzing of Trump's hair or additional wound from just the slug spinning.
