Our reaction to the Semi-Final 2 running order of Eurovision 2024. We discuss producers' decision to open the show with Malta's Sarah Bonnici and to close with The Netherlands' Joost Klein. We discuss who the running order helps and hurts and make some predictions about which countries will overshadow which countries.

Semifinal 2 is by far a stronger one. I struggle to choose only 10 whereas in Semi 1 I can think only of 6 songs I like.

I want Latvia&Estonia to Q. Actually this semi is tough for me cuz there are at least 6 songs which I would give 7-8 out of 10&no idea how to chose who else I want to qualify. Most of them are nice songs but not convincing enough on their own to say they will qualify. Consequently, all will depend on performance and PR at the end.

Greece, Armenia, & Italy are my favorites. For me I like Austria better without the video. A lone woman in a dark garage with a bunch of greasy guys seems creepy to me. Wish she'd done a colorful party scene instead.

What Deban has with this semi, I have with semi 1. Lots of songs that are filler, whereas THIS semi has much more fun songs and interesting ethnic entries. As to the running order.... I agree with the opener and closer, everything else... I have other ideas about that LOL

I'm convinced that this year a lot of my favorites are gonna stay in the semi... My top is a bit too controversial to be judged... My top 16 Of Semi-Final 2 : 1. Greece (10) 2. Switzerland (9,5) 3. Austria (9,5) 4. Malta (9) 5. Czechia (9) 6. Denmark (8,5) 7. Armenia (8,5) 8. Georgia (8,5) 9. San Marino (8,5) 10. Albania (8,5) ------------------------------------------------- 11. Belgium (8) 12. Israel (7) 13. Norway (7) 14. Netherlands (7) 15. Estonia (5,5) 16. Latvia (5) Numbers in parenthesis are my scores out of 10... Definetaly the tougher semi-final based on the songs themselves... a rather noisy semi where I can literally see ANYONE going through! Rehearsals and therefore lives shows are needed to make any kind of prediction... I'm having a very bad time becuse I want all the countries from 1 to 14 to qualify... I am so sure that this year I'll be disapointed, and I've come to the moment that I'm saying "Well, whatever that is going to happen, will happen" and sit down and watch the show... Czechia's so not my song. I feel like it was put there so that France might be enjoyed more. And YES- these auto qualifiers deserve a chance because it's all about the HYPE. How can you be hyped for somebody if you heard them once several months ago? Plus, it makes it clear who will be voting in which semi-final.
