We’re Spinnin’ The Hits And Bringin’ The Laughter!
Pairing an impeccable ensemble cast with hilarious wit and popular tunes, WKRP In Cincinnati celebrated four amazing seasons, making it the quintessential situation comedy for any music lover! Join everyone's favorite radio DJs - the rockin' Dr. Johnny Fever (Howard Hesseman) and the soulful Venus Flytrap (Tim Reid) - as they weave through the inner-office antics of the crazy WKRP staff including the station's steady program director Andy (Gary Sandy), indecisive manager Carlson (Gordon Jump), smarmy advertising executive Herb (Frank Bonner), quirky news man Les Nessman (Richard Sanders), shy ingénue Bailey (Jan Smithers) and, of course, the station's lovely receptionist, Jennifer (Loni Anderson). So sit back and enjoy the sound of uproarious laughter as you watch all 90 episodes of this iconic series!
Shout! Factory has devoted itself to the higher pursuit of pop culture for the past 10 years. During that time, we've released some of TV's most beloved gems, such as Freaks And Geeks, My So-Called Life, Sports Night, MadTV and Mystery Science Theater. The theme song alone brings back memories for me. Every time this theme song plays, it was time for me to go to bed since I had to (I was only a kid), but I could still hear it. Always could hear my mom and dad laughing. Miss those days, and I miss my mom... God rest her soul.

I love the episode where Andy explains how he ended up at WKRP. He says, really quickly, "I got tired of packing, and unpacking, town-to-town, up and down the dial." The theme song is a quick summary of Andy's background as well as an ode to DJs in general.

Don't know why but this song popped into my head the other day. Haven't thought about it in many years but has a special memory of a woman I met out West when things were clicking for us - until she suddenly announced that she had to move back to Cincinnati to take over her just departed grandfathers real estate business. That was back in 2004 and I still think of her to this day! So just had to hear this song again with the original WKRP intro and man did that take ever me back! Maybe I'll try to find her and give her a call? Rest in peace Howard and Frank!

Reminds me of St. Louis a bit, too. Similar size cities (well, at least St. Louis used to be before it lost 2/3 its population within the city limits). Now St. Louisans say St. Louis is alive and well and living in Kansas City! :) St. Louis is still a proud old city--it just has so many problems and a government which is clueless and has had its hands tied since separating from St. Louis County dating back to 1876. Then St. Louis didn't need St. Louis County. But since St. Louis' heyday was around 1900, and it has been struggling since, it really can't live without St. Louis County, its land, its people, and its money.
