It would be called an open differential. A better option for RC guys would be to use kneaded eraser sounded any hobby shop and to pack the differential full. It will stiffen the differential enough to be virtually a locked differential however it can be removed unlike J-B weld that requires you to replace the diff to remove it.

You can also use hot glue that will come apart again easily. This set up is for extreme crawling mudding and rock bashing. In my newer video I explain why not to do this unless you're building something purpose built.

When did you purchase your wltoys? I'm surprised it already has metal gears. I used to have this boogey and it came with nylon gears. This model is the same wltoys 12428, no change in model name?

No change its the same model I got it about 6 months ago.
