@DozeOffNow Honesty hope it helps the WNBA. I'm not against the WNBA, just against the notion that that are just as good and entertaining as the NBA and that they demand the same revenue stream. Basic economics would tell you that you're in a losing profession. I look forward to Caitlin Clark and others entering the WNBA, but it's like when people are drowning and you're in the water with nothing to keep you afloat, you can only save one person for so long before they drag you under. The rising stars will have an impact on the teams they join but will eventually get dragged under by the WNBA as a whole.

@@Giganticonion I change my mind. But for $5 million, it is difficult to imagine Ice Cube wants her just for 10 weeks. She declared for the WNBA draft. There has to be some huge downside about the Big 3 contract, because why would anybody not immediately say yes to $5 million for 10 weeks? Any offer can be revoked before acceptance.

It was reported this morning that Clark is already the highest paid WNBA player; and that is before she has been drafted. Her endorsement agreements, supplemental contracts with the WNBA and her salary will collectively earn Caitlin more money her first year than most WNBA players make in their professional career.

Sabrina Ionescu was the first women's college player I've learned about. Caitlin was second, then Angel Reese, etc. This new gen is gonna carry tf out of women's basketball. The last gen failed miserably

Why is is called hate when women COMPETE against each other. If Caitlin is truly the best, then she SHOULD be receiving all of this smoke. She is the woman to beat, showdown, "destroy" this year. They are competing and someone has to lose. If you're a shooter, you're gonna want to out shoot her...of defense is your strength, then shutting Caitlin down is the ultimate challenge. The WNBA hardly ever mentions her. She also has a strong Christian faith. Straight women seem to have more challenges in the league.

The interest in her, and the games she plays in will be attended in record numbers as well as views. But after the first year, when the initial excitement has faded, it's going to decline. This isn't a knock against her, as she's great. This is just a fact because it's WNBA and the game is just not as good as the men's.

I swear I was thinking the same thing. Here you have an opportunity to put the ego aside, support her and help grow the league and make some bank. Caitlin’s teammates always say when the light shines on her, it shines on all of them. In a league that’s primarily minority and LGB, why is now diversity a bad thing?

The wise and prudent thing would be to market both Caitlin and Angel " equally" similar to the way the NBA marketed Bird and Magic back in 1980...This essentially saved the NBA...This same calculus could help save the WNBA...Every great champion needs a "rival" and it sparks fan interest and increased support...
