What a bunch of negative criticisms from people who don’t even know any true facts about the man or his life. To call a man a Nazi sympathizer is totally incorrect....have you read any material from an authorized biographer about that...it is totally false. And when he was living in Papua, a primitive jungle environment, he & his workers were being attacked by head hunters with poisonous arrows & spears when he fired at an attacker in SELF-DEFENSE & killed him . What was he supposed to do, let the attackers KILL him?

I knew nothing of his life but as an actor. I like his movies. While it is true that he had lots of women, deep inside he was a sad man and never found peace of mind. About a 15-year old girl having relationship with a 48-year old man... this 15-year old girl, with proper guidance from her parents, should have been attending school, in high school at that age, then to college. Errol Flynn had money and known in the movie world. For a young girl to have a relationship with a well-known actor was something to brag about. It's a pity for someone who was given the grace of luxury through his trade as an actor and with beautiful children was destroyed by his own actions and decisions so they were all taken away. I hope that he had found peace of mind; rest in peace.

I agree Dina. It was a very strange thing back them. He was a handsome, a humorous, & fascinating man. Both sides must have had some home issues as kids. What he gave to us wasn't about his personal life. He was a great actor and very athletic. Some vulnerable boyish charm that attracted women. How did they resist that?. It was legal at age 13 in many rural areas then. Some parents allowed such things for various reasons like a break into film or money. Men like Clark Gable married an older woman for his start. My Grandparents married In 1924 when my Grandmother was 15. Grandpa was18.. They had a happy 53 year marriage until her early death. He remained single doing good deeds until his passing10 years later. True love.

I'm not sure he found too much 'peace', although I hope he did. He found much 'piece', it seems. I say that rhetorically, in the spirit of Flynn and in the humor, which pervaded his life and times.

His first wife once said, "I loved him anyway and he was, as everyone suspected, an endearing rascal." I would repeat the same thing--I love him anyway... And everybody agreed during his life time that was just so likable, including his Warner Brothers bosses, his third wife, and his friends. So who cares if any documentary wants to tilt toward negativity.

@@lianelayman7577 he also, reportedly, had an affair with another co-star, the beautiful, Ann Sheridan. This, while she was still married to actor, George Brent, who apparently caught them in their bedroom. This has an interesting 'wrap up', insofar as Brent, having caught the two red handed, proceeded to attempt to beat Flynn's ass. However, as it turned out, Flynn actually kicked Brent's ass, before leaving the bedroom. I guess one could say Errol really had his hands full, that day. And that he, indeed, came out on top!

Miss De Havilland (as proven by the Ryan Murphy 'Feud' TV show) was an intensely private person right until her death, and protected her reputation fiercely. One had to step very cautiously in documentaries like this. She openly admitted their deep feelings for one another, but also intimated strongly that she never stepped over that line with him, as he was married/separated for much of the time (though the apocryphal Michael Caine story seems to cast doubt on that). As it stands though his efforts would indicate he absolutely was in love with her, but she was the one who 'got away'. Both John Huston and James Stewart also fell hard for her, with Flynn supposedly coming to blows with Huston over her (true or not I don't know), but strong men certainly were drawn to her. With her passing, I'd imagine any future Flynn biographies and documentaries (or biopics) will delve into their relationship in far more detail.

Sadly, Flynn ruined his own life with constant self indulgence, and values that could only be unfulfilling in the long run. He was charming, beautiful, jolly, clever and doomed to always feel he stood alone. I guess he did. Like most Hollywood "biographies", this one veers into rumor, salacious speculation & hints of the highly improbable. Find out what Errol really thought by reading his autobiography "My Wicked, Wicked Ways". He could write quite well & there's plenty of shocking revelations to please everyone. Did you know that when traveling through the jungle, he killed a stone-age culture native in New Guinea, in self defense? Bought a slave woman for personal use? Started a tobacco plantation?
