Thanks for good innovations how to get riddle of or at least lessen the wobbling this drill creates. Otherwise good bench drill.

Hello, thank you for that tip. On the video we can see the dimensions of the part, but not its thickness. Could you tell me that? Thank you.

Trob inou, it is not so important. In my case the part is about 6 mm thick.

Guys. Just replace the rubbish chuck Bosch fitted and buy a Rohm supra 871050 instead. It's only the chuck that wobbles.

There is wobble between the green body of the drill and the pillar - this video addresses that.

Good idea! Interesting, the diameter on my tube is 46mm, not 48?? One thing would improve this design i think. What if, in stead of cutting the additional ring open, just make a notch for the adjustment bar on the tube. If the "ring" would be a continuing piece, it would be stronger and flex less?

Odd that your diameter is smaller. The ring must have an opening for the gear shaft to fit. However, one could probably make it in, for example, aluminum or bronze.

@ Very strange, and its only a few year old. Maybe never models hav smaller shaft(cheaper).Yes you need to hav an opening for the gear shaft but it does not need to be fully open like the original design. You can have a "bridge" covering the opening just behind the gear shaft location, thus it would be stiffer(little difficult to explain). Bronze would be great, considering sourcing a suitable bushing that would then modify with a plate to fit. Most play is in the chuck(will get a new better one next week) and the gear box needle bearing. Changed all chuck related bearings yesterday....but would be enough to just change the small needle bearing on top of it, the main 6002 is not that bad.

Of course you can have a “bridge”. I would be nice to hear about new needle bearings :-)

@ You can use 2 bearings of this type: 8X12X3.5mm MR128 ZZ. No aliexpress......source Japanese or other quality bearings. There is a French video on KZfaq how to change bearings, its not a 10min job:) I removed the needle bearing with modeling clay and a 8mm shaft.

What software you use ? Is that just autocad ?

In my case it is SolidWorks, but Sketchup is another good program.

Good job, although that would solve just the "basic" wobbling. I'm currently trying to fix shaft backlash.
4 жыл бұрын
David Sedláček what do you mean with "shaft backlash"?
4 жыл бұрын
@ there are three types of "wobbling" (backlash). - First is what you've fixed with your insert, - second is in "z-axis" when you lock the nut at the back of the drill (activates the spring mechanism) - and third is in the chuck itself = the chuck is mounted on a shaft. The shaft is held by two bearings - at the top and the bottom of the shaft. The bottom one is OKish, but the top one is totally loose. See this vid: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/Y6mZgpCAlrTTl5s.html Cheers David

@ The chuck of this machine is really crap. The worst think is that it does not seem to be changeable. I tried to replace mine but it seems to be welded to the shaft or glued with some sort of glue which is impossible to counteract. Perhaps I am just too much of a chicken, but I feel that I have tried with high force than I feel comfortable with and feel that if I'd use more force I'd brake it.

Hi, how this solution works after certain period of time?
3 жыл бұрын
Good question. It's still better than before, but has started to wobble a bit again. I'm going to try again with a stiffer plastic.
@tetesefi3 жыл бұрын
@ Good idea. I ordered two custom aluminum rings: one to be placed where you added your insert and the other one at the top, instead of a black plastic cover of the metal body. I will drill them so that they can be screwed to the body and will make 15 mm gap for the rack bar. I hope it will be tight enough and maybe two rings up and down will make it really stable.

Nice video sir, can you share the solidworks file please ? best regards
Tack för tipset! :-) The wobble bothers me less than the fact that the chuck is not changeable. The chuck throat is not deep enough for large drills, so that wobble is much worse. Anyway, have you considered to use metal for that extra ring instead of soft plastic? Even aluminium would be better. I have been thinking about a similar solution, but in metal and also two ball bearings pushing the rail from the side, and also something on the top. This Russian guy managed to remove it, but I don't understand why mine is not as easy to remove as his was. It seems though that he damaged the original chuck, so his must have been glued also. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/jbyVp7iovtzZiZs.html

@AdaptingCamera3 жыл бұрын
@@epedja I know now, and also managed to change mine. In the Russian video I linked to it looks so easy but it is NOT that easy, so I thought it was welded, but it was not. Here is my video about the changing of chuck: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/pKmhidKSrLyvaJs.html

Did you invent anything regarding these ball bearings pushing the rail from the side? I just ordered two aluminum rings but I just want to make 15 mm gap for the rail.
