Ive been using this system for about 3 months in my sharpening business. This is a great system. Its called the Ookami Gold system. It took me a about 20 shears until I got very comfortable with it. It seems like alot of steps, but, after constant use, it goes fairly smoothly. My customers have yet to complain. Every shear cuts wet tissue paper after sharpened. Good system. I would eventually like to invest in the Hira To by Wolf. Its the horizontal flat hone system

Also that convexing clamp will allow you to get the same curve as the flat hone, for a fraction of the price. After 30 years of cutting hair I learned to sharpen first by hand, on the high end shears, if you understand something it becomes easier to accomplish your goal, not everyone can do everything. With 250-300 employees, when I was at my peak, you could give all of the people the same tools and training, but only 10% of them will be really good at this or anything else.You need to have good eye hand co-ordination when you do something like this. The machine will do it's job if you do yours.

I ordered mine yesterday. The new model is red, and the motor and a few other things have benn changed. It also has an attachment for a vacuum to suck out the dirt and dust rather than have it floating around your shop or the salon you are in. A lot of people knock these machines, I have researched every machine out there from 100- 28, 000, and the job that this does is great for a portable machine that you can go from client to client with.Like everything else much of this depends on the operator, if you are good with your hands you will get a better job then someone who is not. I owned 5 hair salons, and I know about individual talent, some have it and some, "no matter how much money and time" never will. The machine will do so much, the operator is more than 50% of the equation.

I wonder can that clamp be used with the Viel sander? Scissor jig attachment for it.

I wish , I wanted to import this machine into South Africa but it is ridiculously expensive , once I have paid for it plus the insane courier fees plus import duties etc it cost the same as a house ( almost ) ...😰
