Loving Mozart so very much from English youth surprising to me having not known this sublime melodic lullaby of the German maestro's ~ Glorious! and with other versions too sung by other singers is worth hearing by contrast. It's a Mozart masterclass of straightforward, simple yet profound, and timeless, in impact on all senses.

Beautiful version, and voice. However, just so people know, the song was not composed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. It was composed by Bernhard Flies, and Friedrich Fleischmann. 🙂❤

Not with the intention of disappointing or even embarrassing anyone here from the previous comments, but I have just learned: "Schlafe, mein Prinzchen, schlaf ein" is a lullaby by Johann Friedrich Anton Fleischmann, which was long attributed to Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart or Bernhard Flies. The lyrics were written by Friedrich Wilhelm Gotter. The song is also known in a modified form as "Snow White's Lullaby" [source: de.wikipedia.org Schlafe, mein Prinzchen, schlaf ein]. One of the lullabies that lulled me to sleep... Light years ago, sung to me by my mom. And a beautiful rendition here by these artists. 1. 3. Schlafe mein Prinzchen, schlaf ein. somewhat like: 1 Sleep, my little prince, go to sleep, The little sheep and birds are at rest. Garden and meadow are silent, Not even a bee hums anymore. Luna with a silver glow Peeps in at the window. Sleep by the silver glow. 2 Even in the castle lies already All lulled to slumber, Not a mouse stirs any more, Cellar and kitchen are empty. Only in the maid's chamber Sounds a melting ah! What kind of an ache might this be? Sleep, my little prince, go to sleep. 3 Who is happier than you? Nothing but pleasure and rest! Playwork and sugar to the full, And still carriages in full course. All ready and waiting, That only my little prince may not cry. What will it be later in the future? Sleep, my little prince, go to sleep.

What artistry and such powerful voice. Is that Schlomo Minz, the Israeli Jew (born in Moscow and emigrated to Israel as a 2-y-old)? If it's him, this makes this performance even more special to those with Israelite ancestry who cherish the history and cultural achievements of the people. Blessed upload, much appreciated!

Not Mozart, by the harmonic style. It is attributed to Bernhard Flies, and it is called "Schlafe, mein Prinzchen, schlaf ein".

She's singing in German. The title is Schlafe mein prinzchen, which translates to Sleep my little prince. It was composed by either B.Flies or J. Fleischmann.

Uhmmm... No. It's Mozart's K 350.

+Sofia Best. Uhmmm... No. That assumption has been discredited. I think it's always advisable to check before you contradict others
@sofiabest62927 жыл бұрын
The idea that it's Fleischmann's or Flies' hasn't been proven. And Yes, it's one of the pieces that are up for discussion for the new edition of the Köchel catalog. I did checked before writing, maybe you should check sources other than Wikipedia.
@oswaldwellman78067 жыл бұрын
+Sofia Best. The idea that it's Mozart hasn't been proven. My source is Deutsche Grammophon, and until you have proven authorship, please stop contradicting me. I would like to know what is the source you checked.

Why is this just annoying to my modern ears? Like.... great job- you mastered Vibrato. Now what, you spam it at me and say "enjoy this?" Nothing I can connect to with this music. Shallow, templated, time to let die.
