After watching the continuing saga unfold at Penn State, I figured now was as good a time as any to revamp this contest. It's much more satisfying to watch us kick Joe Paterno and Jerry Sandusky's ass now after everything that's happened.

I was at this game. The first and only time I was at the “Big House”. I was a medical resident from PA and had graduated from Penn State for my undergrad. I was visiting Ann Arbor for a Sports Medicine Fellowship at the University of Michigan. They paid for my flight, and hotel room and gave me a stipend for my stay and showed me around campus. I remember being surrounded by the Wolverine faithful at the game and hearing the Overrated chant. All these years I did not know I was watching Tom Brady before reaching NFL GOAT status. I had a great time otherwise and met great people. Another job back home was offered to me so I never moved to Michigan to help take care of the athletes there. It would have been fun and strange to wear both a Michigan hat and a PSU jersey to the games. I root for Michigan when they are not playing Penn State. Go Blue beat the Buckeyes!

Yeah, Bob Griese corrected him later. You have to return a blocked extra point all the way to get 2 points. A blocked field goal all the way will give you the 6.

After the satisfying win in 97, I wasn't sure we could beat them with the same amount of satisfaction but this one was just as sweet. Especially after our defense was so awful early that season, this was a statement win along with the one over Wisconsin.

This game was almost as a good a performance as Michigan had the previous year. The defense pressured PSU's QB relentlessly, and Brady and Shea really formed a tremendous combination. OOOO, imagine if we'd had Charles Woodson that year! Still, no regrets. Great memories for sure. GO BLUE!

So Carr kicked a field goal from the 1 yard line, on 4th & 1, with the greatest QB of all time. That has to be the most conservative call in the history of all football.
