For those who don't know! You do not get out of your car and walk up to a wounded mountain lion or any other wild animal that already looks at humans as a combination of fast food. You call animal control so they can get a tranquilizer gun and then get the animal to the appropriate wildlife vet to get fixed and tagged and put back into the wild.

She wasn’t almost eaten. Not even close. The poor animal was struck by a car and was bleeding in the road. The mountain lion is disoriented and in pain. You would be too if somebody plowed into you with 4,000 pounds of metal. The smart things to do is try to move it without getting yourself hurt. Whether it’s by clapping, which would let you know if the animal is alert or not, or by pushing it along with a broom; it’s better than letting it lie there and potentially get hit again while still alive. If you’d rather let an animal suffer, that’s on you. You can be as stupid and heartless as you want. Not everybody is like that.

100% . I grew up in an area with a lot of wild life (New Jersey) so I know certain things like don't touch poison sumac or oak etc , don't step on decaying wood because it usually harbors animals/insects that will bite , never touch animals etc. I realized a lot of people were never taught anything about nature

Bravery is when you are scared shitless but you do it anyway because its the right thing. This is not the right thing to do, A wounded animal is usually when they are the most dangerous. Most hunters in history died because they approached their prey before it had died, and with a last effort they fuck up their killer.

I don’t think people understand when a mountain lion gets hurt really bad. It kind of just give the fuck up not necessarily, but when people use hounds to track and corner the mountain lion after shooting it, they go after and attack it. Yes, the dog can get hurt, but that cat fucked up like I have lived in Montana for 18 years and I have literally never seen a mountain lion in the wild hunting doing anything I’ve never seen one, so seeing one in the road like this means it’s head is all fucked up or is dying and just doesn’t care, that’s when you should call somebody and see if you should put it down. In Montana that’s very common to do with deer because for some goddamn reason people just drive off after hitting it.

That thing got hit by a car, it doesn’t need to move with injuries like that. There are only two things to do. Call the game warden/911, or put the mountain lion down. But while it’s still alive it needs medical attention before making it move and sustain further injury.

My first thought would've been to Google wild animal vets whatever tbh I don't know what to look up or call it but that's the first thing I would've thought here 911 at the very least and then even if they didn't respond to the scene they would given a 24/7 hour # to call for people that would... walking up to this animal was WILD no pun intended

Unbelievable like what the hell did she believe she was going to do. Put a bandaid on the poor mountain lion. That animal if it wanted to would have shredded her. A mountain lion hit by a car and is injured is almost as dangerous as a very ticked off mountain grizzly bear that's been shot and wounded. This woman either has no education on wildlife and needs to stay away from mountain lions for the rest of her life or she's going to be the next meal for one. I suppose it's just a damn good thing it wasn't a mountain grizzly because she wouldn't be identifiable and those in the vehicle where this was filmed from , a grizzly would probably be coming right thru that window at you, unless you would have gotten well away from that scenario. Hope somebody fills her in on how to do with this situation properly and what could have happened to her by her stupidity.
